63 C10 Custom Camper

Bought this about six months ago. I've been keeping this going for a friend for several years, and he finally decided it was time to let it go. It's pretty solid overall. Someone pulled the V8 out along time ago and swapped in a '59 261ci L6. It runs okay for beating around in it, but I've gotta get a better engine setup sorted at some point. I'll either go back with a V8 of some sort, or swap in my 292 from my '70 C30 dually parts truck.

It was originally the classic white over blue two tone, which is a great combo, but just not for my taste. I'm leaning towards black over desert beige for something different.

It had an under dash wiring fire from a shorted turn signal switch several years ago, and I'm currently working through that to get the lights functioning again so I can drive it. I'll post some pics of my LED taillight and front turn signal updates once get everything sorted.

Nice rig! Your choice, but I vote swap in the 292. With some work they are a hell of an engine.

Thanks! It has some cool features. This is the only one I've ever seen myself. I like the badges, but I haven't decided if I'm going to leave these on, or save them along with the side markers, and clean up the looks.

Wow!! NICE engine!!

The 292 is what I'm favoring too. I like the simplicity, reliability, and the torque. The 292 I have is a new Jasper crate engine that's never been run. I'm really wanting to get the Offy twin single carb intake, #5415, and mount two TBI throttle bodies with MegaSquirt fuel injection!

That'd be awesome! You'd get better mileage than me for sure. haha I went kinda crazy on mine, built it for good overall street performance. She'll turn up to 5500 rpm to.....not that I'm gonna do it often. Ross pistons, .500 lift cam, opened the head up all sorts of goodies and still room for boost in the future. Backed it by a tremec 5 speed tko600. Outta be fun and it's different.
