As for the bucket seat and console..Nothing special to look at.The seats will be done sometime this fall and the console will be done when I get around to patching the 2 small holes and painting it.

Did a little work on the bed today...one of the crossmembers underneath was rusted out so I cut it out and I am attempting to get the new piece in..After the piece is in the bottom is getting clean,some undercoating put on and then the bed will be ready to be flipped over so I can work on the rest of it once it's on the chassis

I finished cutting out the part of the rear bed crossmember that was rusted out and got the new piece made and cut to length.A little trimming tomorrow and a final welding on it and it's done...
I also got the cab mounts in.I might have the cab on tomorrow.I dont know yet... |

Well,back on the cab goes.Unplanned I decided to put the cab on.After fighting trying to get it over the tall chassis it finally got in the area it needed to go and after fighting with it trying to get the bolt holes aligned for the mounts,I finally got them on...If only I had brake lines in the front,I could drive it around..

Here is a pic of the motor in the chassis.The first time in months or years for that matter the truck has had a cab on with a complete drivetrain installed too.

Of course the $100 bucket seats in need of repair  The other seat The half restored console.I just need to patch one more hole and paint it all.BTW,inside the console is my black seat belts for it to be installed after the rust is done being fixed in the cab. |

I've done a little more work on the truck the last few days.I finished cutting,grinding,and welding in the crossmember section and welded the new piece in that goes behind the wheel tub on the bedside.I'd like to get the bed on and take a few pics to show the people I bought the lift from,since something still isnt right...hopefully they send me 6" lift springs for the front as the back already looks to be a 6" lift and I'd rather have it higher in the front than lower...

Nope,you cant beat free...I wish all the other stuff I want for it was free too!
 I managed to get the bed back on..I only got a few pics taken though,the camera was eating up the battery power quick! So,this is officially the most together it has ever been and the bed still needs wheel tubs,and tailgate installed as well as inner fenders on the front.I also found someone who will sandblast the truck in prep for paint..As seen in the pics,the truck still isnt sitting quite level.I hope to change that one way or another... I did some more work on the bed.I was cleaning the passenger side to bare metal and came across alot of bondo.There was a dent in the tail light area but it wasnt that bad.I think someone just went crazy with the bondo..Here are some pics

After months,the truck sits how I want it to be,level.
 I've done some more minor work like tightening the tranny pan bolts down as a few were loose causing a small leak,the pinion seal was leaking so I took a hammer and punch and seated it in position,and the timing cover bolts were loose causing a small leak but all is fixed now

As much as I LOVE the 67-68 trucks... a 4x4 just looks right with a 71/72 clip!

Just a few more pics....In the last one you can sorta see the brake lines I bent because I'm too cheap to buy pre bent ones

They are eagle alloy rims.I forget which kind they are though.For some reason I want to think the kind like this is discontinued but there is another one that looks close to the same.

Well,I havent done any work on this lately.I've been doing some work on the 72 K5 so this was collecting dust till more parts came.I've been searching for some cheap auto tranny linkages for a 4wd. (4wd specific part). I was going to use the ones from the k5 since it is going to be a 4spd but it had a B&M shifter installed so it didnt have the stock linkages,so I thought.I was under the k5 today and to my amazement it had the one piece still bolted to the column that I need,the 4wd specific part.So,now I can use that piece,along with 2wd parts to finish up the linkages for the tranny.I also got my front brake lines so as soon as I get the front clip off,they can go on.After that I should be able to atleast drive it around.

Well,I got the tranny linkages hooked up finally..The front brake lines dont fit though,as they were for a pre 70 or 71 4wd..So,I've got some brake line bending to do..I got a np205 shift knob for it today,too...I might get some more cab work done on it this weekend too..
