Boyds fuel tank

I got my new boyds tank in last week, but we had baseball games all weekend so I didn't get to work on it this weekend. But after thinking about it I was wondering if most guys are mounting them in the frame rails or under the frame rails. And would it be good to put some type of rubber between the tank brackets and the frame rail to act as some type of barrier between the metals?
Thanks for the addvice Kevin

Re: Boyds fuel tank

I got mine last week and am planning to mount it in the frame rail, with some type of rubber insulator between the tank and frame rails.

Re: Boyds fuel tank

That is what I was leaning toward just wanted to make sure this would be correct. Are you going to put any straps on yours or will the tabs be strong enough to support the weight with fuel.

Re: Boyds fuel tank

I'm just bolting through the tabs to the frame. No straps needed.
