bottom of door

evening all

im working on my 72 c10, the drivers side bottom door gap is about 1/8 to the rocker , sprayed a fog coat on for reference to see, it helps me, lol

the passenger side is going together alot better but the bottom of door to rocker gap is not quite a 1/4 inch (pass side is not welded up yet but all the pieces are fitting really well)

the po had some kinda of slip on rockers all mudded in, kinda nasty taking apart, also think they had raised the door as it sits really close at the top

both doors open and close real well

my question is , how do i drop the door just a 1/16 or so on the passenger side and is the closer gap better or try to make both kinda even

as always any help is really appreciated, never welded much before this, still having fun

Re: bottom of door

The doors positioning should Focus on aligning body creases. Rocker installation will determine gap to door.

On a more positive note, congrats on your five year milestone!

Re: bottom of door

ok, i know i could raise the rocker, but the inner floor would have to be trimmed on the bottom maybe, might actually kick the bottom of rocker out a slight bit, might be a good thing, thanks

so is the slightly larger gap better or as long as all lines up its ok

thanks for the kind words about the cancer, closer to 7 years now, need to update profile, lol

Re: bottom of door

got it

took everything apart, started with the rocker as reference bolted and screwed everything back together, closed up the gap without changing any other gaps
