Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

Man I can't believe this thread is still going strong after all these years. I guess the last time I logged in when I was looking to work on the dragtruck's replacement was 5.5 years ago and I haven't touched it since. Lately I got the bug again, you sent some status pics to me, and I'm sitting here shopping for some parts. No chance of me turning this one into a drag truck again. But man is it nostalgic to see the old one and it does fire me up. Hope to have the LS powered one going by summer to fall of next year. I had started a thread for it too years ago back when I had the frame media blasted. I will have to go look to see if it is still there. Truck looks good man. Love some of the changes, and love to see some of the original stuff that only myself and you would remember.

My builder opted for the pinto rack over the Mustang style . Mustang looks like a cleaner install to me .

Sorry to just be repying to this. When the truck was together before it weighed 3150 with me in it. I am adding quite a few things including steel doors so not sure what it will weigh this time.If it's not fast enough for me I will buy a tall deck block and go 600 plus inches.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck

Hey Kevin, what length are your primaries? Headers look awesome by the way, I pulled my truck out again and have a ****load of changes being made to it including a new motor, my setup is going to need a 28” primary. My headers will be fenderwell also, I’d like to somehow do it so I can use a couple v-bands off the slip on merge collectors to hang a short 5” exhaust to dump behind the cab that I can take off at the track but not so sure it’s going to be possible.

Not a option this will be on a race motor primary size, merge collector size and length will all be specific to this motor, it will be around 1200hp. Exhaust is just to keep it quiet around the house and to meet requirements to run in street car events, will be dual 5” minimal and light attachment will have to be right off the collector so once removed motor is at optimal running N/A.

For heads up street car events with exhaust I will have a 200 shot of spray to compensate

Anyway sorry to derail your thread Kevin, was just curious as to what length primary put your collectors at that position.

I keep forgetting to measure the length but I think they are real close to what you are looking for. I plan to add some short Race mufflers.
