yeah it has 3:73 gears turbo 400 trans and flowmasters with down spouts just before the diff and my average rpm was about 3300 to do 60 miles per hour. long ride but well worth it I love these trucks.

Re: My Portland swap meet purchase.

I love the stance of the truck and the chrome looks real premo.

Which color are you going to paint the truck?

If it were mine I would be tempted real hard just to drive it the way it is.
OH WAIT, my truck is multi colored too!

Congrats, it looks like a real fine purchase, I'm sure you will have plenty of fun in it.

Re: My Portland swap meet purchase.

well I'm not quite sure what color I'am going to paint it yet or if at all. the preveous owner just painted under the hood and detailed it quite nice but he painted it like 99 chevrolet pewter(not sure what the color is actually called) so I'am kind of unsure if i should just continue with what he started or paint it the original color(gold and white). what would you guys do? some opinions would be great. To answer the question about milage (thirsty thirsty thirsty)lol... but I did not buy this truck for milage. Thanks for all the compliments.

Re: My Portland swap meet purchase.

I saw a pickup of our vintage painted pewter, and I didn't care for it much

Though pewter is a nice color cause it hides dirt real well (my corvette was pewter because I live down a mile long gravel driveway )

CMACDONALD1,
I tend to like darker colors like reds, Blues, Blacks. I am about to paint my Sons 69 LongFleet Black and Silver. I am probably going to paint my 67 Black all over and my 56 Bigwindow short step is going to black and red or black and blue. There are so many colors to choose from but one thing I dont like to be is the same as everyone else. So is that a 396 or 402 or a 427? They sure are thirsty engines but who cares!!! Great find.
