"What crate motor do you have"

Well according. To the PO I have a late 80s early 90s "crate motor" with very few miles on it, but according To the numbers on the block I have a 76 350 with a billion miles on it more then likely... :0

Sorry had to vent....lol

Re: What crate motor do you have?

GMPP just had a sale on the LSX376 for almost have the cost of the 454 so it is now on the way to get this build on track! 450HP 450ftlb torque should be good for now. Said it is perfect to put some boost to it and let the tires go!

Plain goodwrench 350 here. Go for a junkyard 4.8/5.3 instead.

If it's this one you're talking about: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/na...0007/overview/

Then yes sir. (Albeit I bought the turn-key version it) Great power, deep throaty sound. My only gripe is that I'm running it with a 3:08 and 700R4 combo. Don't make that mistake.

That's the one! I'm looking at the turn key as well.

How was the conversion? Any major headaches?

I ended up moving it forward 1.5 inches which wasn't hard at all (it was originally a 4-speed). It wasn't a necessary step but it made the distributor clear the firewall a little better. The engine runs really nice, and I will warn you that it actually comes with a Holley 670CFM and not the advertised 600CFM. No major headaches that I can think of. Note that it also does NOT come with a mechanical fuel pump installed.

This is the one I used: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/na...make/chevrolet

To which I complimented with: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/na...7697/overview/

The serpentine kit needed a little bit of fitting to get it all together, so expect a few things to either not fit/need fitting if you run into a bind. If and when you decide to use it.

This is all great info! Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to more power and no leaks.

I went with the GMPP 290 horse. Got it for $1650 from Lakewood Chevy in Denver.

I swapped in the GM 350HO motor a few years back and it's been great so far. The power is there when you need it but is very streetable with the mild cam. My goal is to add the MSD Atomic EFI to the motor with the hopes to incress gas mileage and to make it more wife friendly.

Hey Tomis Blair - can you provide the info on that builder? I'm near Sacramento, but travel to Oregon on occasion. It would be worth the drive for me. Thanks!

It's not in a C10, but my dad put one of these in his 87 MCSS. It makes great power and torque. With the 200-4R and 3.73 gears in the car, it gets pretty decent mileage as well.
