It is looking amazing there. are you gonna mod the inner fenders to raise the wheel wells then and are you installing a sway bar in the rear of the truck, curious

Yes the inner fenders are cut to recieve the inner fenders. Sway bar front and rear.

on your door latch mod, how do you go about locking/unlocking your door??? does the new style latch have a provision for locking/unlocking???

The latches are bearclaw latches with locks and power door locks included. The original lock buttons will be used. Thanks for asking.

Jumping into this one too. I want to see how your brake booster setup turns out. I saw some pics of the custom arm, but nothing else at this point. I guess "go" is more important than "stop" for now.

I'm still curious about your inners. I saw where you raised the mounting holes on the inside of the outer fender, and understand the thought behind changing the front mount, but what are you plans to get the inner bolted up to the outter around the wheel arc?

I also raised the mount on the inside of my outer fender, but have not tackled the actual inner fenders yet. I had planned to slice the inner into two pieces, bolting both parts in, then running a strip of sheet metal to fill the gap.

i figure by the time i'm done with both, i'll have about 2 weeks time of cutting, welding and grinding time into them.... But the extra wheel clearance is well worth it.

Hey good to here your input. If you can hold off on cutting your inner fenders in half I am confident I have the solution for the inner fender lip. I think that cutting your inner fenders will lead you to a bunch of fitment problems. As soon as you open up the radius distance the lip circumference changes. Also there is not much gain from front radiator support back to the firewall. I will post the lip install pictures soon. Hope this helps ya. Scott

I'm not planning to tackle this until april or so when i get it out of storage. Now i'm really curious what your plans are. I don't see any other way to do it since you (and I) have essentially increased the distance between the top two bolts, and the ones that bolt to the wheel arc.

I suppose one route would be to use spacers up front like you did, cut the wheel arc mounting holes off the inner, add metal, then re-add the arc mounting holes.

Exactly right. I have the pieces cut from templates that will get welded to the inner fender then drilled to match the flanges on the inside of the fender. I will post the step by step pics in about 1 to 2 weeks as soon as I can get started with this. Have a great week. Scott Nadeau

As you have seen in the early pictures I built a 67 step (black). That truck was built in about 1982-1983. For it's time the truck was a stellar piece. I remember a particular car show I attended that had a head judge and he always had a chip on his shoulder about this truck. So i figured that day was going to be just a day spent in the sun enjoying the show and talking to people. At the end of the day when it came time for the awards I was completely blown away. The awards wen't like this. Best truck in show- Best of show-Best engine-Best interior. Needless to say I was shocked because of the person over seeing the judging. I had to sell that vehicle years ago and it left a huge desire to build another one. Since then I have aged and hopefully gained some wisdom and a little grey experience. My life has stretched across many trades that have compiled some talents. This new truck has sparked a mission to push myself to exceed my normal limits and create a piece that will suprise myself and hopefully produce a build that others can enjoy and gain some insight into building their own projects. So this build is all about raising the bar to a commitment beyond my current abilities. It's not about being the best it's about being better than myself. So I hope this answers your question Blitz.

Oh the wheel choice is a secret for now.
