Re: 69 chevy with 500c.i. cadillac

For future reference (somehow I never saw this thread over the last few weeks!) we have used "early" (full-size or A-100) Mopar small block van engine mounts with a quarter inch washer as a spacer for the block side of engine mounts on various Studeys and a Ford leadsled, with the 60s-70s- style "rectangle biscuit" pads. The frame side became a routine with rectangular tubing and a plate with a slot in it.

The most common bit of fun has always been the heater fitting on the back of the passenger side head, which must have flow even if a heater is not used. It loves to create firewall problems. A 90° fitting and a hose run to bypass the heater would work. You would also want to add a fitting to your radiator or have a purge tank (we would usually find something that looked like a Ford T-bird tank, somewhere--but never a T-bird!) with the fitting as a return line. I don't have any pictures handy to explain.

The stock Caddy rwd trannies are long tailshaft versions of TH400s, which would help with changing over to a one-piece driveshaft if you were so inclined.

Also, the blower setups for Caddy motors are usually (but not always) modified Ford 460 setups--which work but require some help during installation.

It's a shame the motor's not going in...I think a '76 Eldo "8.2 Litre" badge would fit right in with a stock '69 pickup grille!
