Thanks! I'm anxious to see it sitting lower with the trim on it. Should change the way it looks entirely.

Re: '68 c10 build

Today we installed the grille. I'm glad we painted it white. The trim, emblem, and lights are all on order.

Re: '68 c10 build

This picture doesn't show up real well but we painted the lower splash panel body color as well. I think it looks better than black and now I don't want to cover the open area on top.

While I was taking pictures today, I couldn't resist snapping a few of the motor. It looks right at home.

I used a 2.5" spindle and 2" spring in the front. We are planning to do at least another 1.5". Waiting until it's all together to make sure though.

Are you planning to drive it on New Mexico roads with a 6" drop? You are much braver than I.

Well, as I said in this post on more that one occasion, this truck is for sale. So to answer your question, no, I do not plan to drive it. However, the amount of drop is really quite irrelevant. My personal c10 is lowered 4.5 in the front and 5.5 in the back with the same size wheels/tires and it sits a lot lower than this truck does. I drive it daily on New Mexico roads and have never had an issue. In fact, it drives like a dream. I don't really know what you mean by "New Mexico" roads. We're all paved where I'm at.

Re: '68 c10 build

We're all paved in Albuquerque, too, but my Corvette bottomed out regularly on some of the city streets, and it was stock height. I think Albuquerque streets are probably the worst in the state, though.

c-notch and the right off-set and these trucks ride great.

Re: '68 c10 build

No really cool updates lately. We did get the wiper arms installed, new motor, sprayer lines, and cover all installed (waiting on weatherstripping). I also mounted the windshield fluid container, batter box, and brake pedal. I started building a bracket for the DBW gas pedal to go in as well and the power steering lines should be done today. I plan to order a radiator and column this afternoon.

Re: '68 c10 build

I'm clearly no fabricator, but today I finished my bracket for the DBW throttle pedal. It came out pretty decent. The positioning seems spot on and the bolts on the firewall are perfectly symmetrical and look pretty clean.

Re: '68 c10 build

We also got the power steering all buttoned up. We did all our own bending on the lines and these still cost $193.00 bucks! Complete scam, if you ask me.

The hood also went into primer for the first time. Still a lot of work left to do on it but it's progress.

Re: '68 c10 build

We also decided on blue for the interior. I think I will most likely use a blue houndstooth cover for the factory bench seat. Anyway, I installed the dash pad this morning. I think it blends very well with the factory blue paint.

I got the headlights and side markers installed today. I went with the "euro" style on both.
