1973 - 1978 GM Matched lock set

-
SOLD

I have a NEW OEM matched door and ignition lock set for the 1973-1978 Chevrolet & GMC pickups. All locks use the same key. If you don't like carrying 2 keys for your truck this will solve that problem. They come with 2 original GM logo keys with the code knockouts, clips, and OEM rubber door lock gaskets, (not the cheap plastic ones like repop sets have) as shown in pictures. For those not familiar with the "OEM" designation they were made by the same company that originally made the locks and keys for the Chevrolet and GMC trucks, Briggs & Stratton, (now Strattec). They are NOT reproduction, nor are they made overseas. $32.50 + $7.50 postage. If you want the best, this is it….

They will also fit the Jimmy, Blazer, & Suburban, ignition and front doors.

You will have to use your existing lock pawls and door lock cylinder retainer clips.

I have included 3 pictures that are about the same. One was a little fuzzy, one a little dark and one about right. You can see which one looks the best on your device........ The locks come in the OEM boxes but I didn't include them in the pictures.

Satisfaction is guaranteed on these, if you don't like them after you see them I will refund your money except for shipping one way.

PayPal or Money Order works for me.

Per board rules Post in thread before sending any PM’s.

Thanks.

I need some education. What is different after 78 that these only work on 78 and older. I haven’t replaced too many of these. Thank you.

I am not sure if it was '79 or '80 but in one of those years the ignition cylinder was changed. The older ones were held in place by the small black tab that you can see sticking up in the pictures above and the later ones were held in place by a retaining screw that was located inside the steering column. They will not interchange.

Thanks,
LockDoc

Thank you. Would you be able to come up with a set like this that would be the type that use the retaining screw? I would be interested in a set of each.

It depends on if it is a tilt column or not (which most of them are) and if you are actually talking about the ignition switch or the lock cylinder, they are two different things.. There are videos on youtube. If you type in "1977 Chevy pickup replace ignition lock" into the youtube search box there will be some videos come up. Use the year of your truck in the search string.

I will take a set of these, and a set for the later model that use a set screw. Will $7.50 cover shipping if shipped all together? Thank you.
