fuel lines ?

My 1986 Suburban 5.7L has two fuel lines coming into the bottom of the fuel pump...I want to put an in-line filter and am wondering if I should put it before the pump, and on which of the two lines ?? or Both ! The filter on the carb keeps clogging and I want to put a larger filter. The filter keeps catching these fine particles that look almost like sand...my guess it that it is rust. Any thoughts ?? Thanks

Re: fuel lines ?

I know it's not what you're asking, but a new 40 gallon gas tank is listed at $119 on LMC. You might be better off eliminating the contamination instead of trapping it.

If you want to add another inline filter, make sure it's for a carb'd engine. The stock mechanical fuel pump might not like trying to push (or especially pull) fuel through a filter designed for fuel injection.

Shipped price $187 with locking ring.

I got this one for my blazer (smaller) and it's nice to have a clean one!

40 gallon LMC with locking ring and shipping, approx. $181.
