81 front drive shaft, Rock Auto

My slip yoke is wobbly(worn).
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=13612&jsn=520

I moved to the boonies in PNW and there are no local driveshaft shops.

Anyone use any of the Rock auto front drive shafts for a spare replacement( if the length measurement is right)?

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...lip+yoke,13612

Even if I replace just the slip yoke(female), the (male) shaft, welded, might be worn too

Re: 81 front drive shaft, Rock Auto

Sorry I don’t have any experience with the rock auto stuff but I have used complete Napa front shafts twice before and had good results. Might be an option if you have one close by. It’s nice that way because you can actually lay your hands on it and make sure it’s right before you buy it. Dennys driveshaft on the interwebs can probably set you up with everything too if rock auto doesn’t work. I’ve used dennys for the upper double cardan rebuild parts in the past too.

I was looking at those drive shafts on rockauto too. I'm sure they would work fine and I'm pretty sure they are all new and not rebuilt. The price is right too.

Cool Re: 81 front drive shaft, Rock Auto

Bump, .................this forum seems pretty dead...............

Checking again for anyone that has bought a drive shaft from rock auto

My first reaction was buy the Dorman one, now Im thinking the SKP (it has the "heart most popular")

Re: 81 front drive shaft, Rock Auto

You couldn't build it for the price they are asking for the SKP and the description/dimensions are pretty thorough so may be worth a shot.

U joint quality and shipping cost are the two unknowns. Make sure you use the discount code!
