Were the feathers an option or dealer installed?

Well, apparently by googling on this site This one is NOT an original Feathers Blazer, as documented by a prev owner on the site - I just found this thread - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=200886 I thought the med bronze interior seemed fishy - but I was indeed fooled. Oh well, at least it is an original Highlander. As for how to really document one though, that is a good question and I haven't found the answer yet - it does not appear on SPIDs in any way (so I'm guessing it is not on the build sheet either) which makes me suspect the stripe kits are dealer installed (to your question Larry). Would love to find out for sure from an original known example or owner etc - I'm going to guess the only proof would be a dealer invoice or something like that.

from the ad - it is an original feathers edition

and - It has been painted once several years ago

whether factory or dealer applied decals - how 'long' ago was the repaint and where did they get the second set of decals??

IIRC, I read that the decals were masked around during repaint.

oof - major pass from then..

funny story about that, my 95 impala ss was side swiped pretty much entire right side.. took it to craftsman autobody, popular place by very large local auto mall.. I requested the entire car painted and I would pay the difference.. go to pick it up, and they naturally had replaced the moldings on the right side however, they painted over the moldings on the left side I paid for to be painted.. I just about lost my mind... of course I demanded it be repainted and without the moldings this time.. went to pick up my car finally and these jackasses had new brochures on the counter, take a wild guess who's car was centerfold in front of their spray booth unbelievable.. final paint job eventually turned out really nice, a retired SD Padres pitcher bought it from me

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

just to be clear, prev owner (member) did highlight that the feathers were added, not original, but added before he got it. Then it got repainted, somewhere later down the line. I missed the part about painted around the feathers - agree, that's a bit of a flag... But so is the bronze interior. Still, pretty cool old rig. Funny, I think the mod bods are kinda corny - yet, I'd LOVE to have one - YET (a further "yet") for some reason I'd only want one if it was original. Yes, I know I'm a little weird. And I realize I will never own one - too many others above it on the bucket list. But sure is fun to think about. I'm sure there is a faded ochre feathers C20 Custom Camper hiding in someone's back yard around here whose owner wants to give it away.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

70 Chinook $500 (these campers don't usually get any rot in roof areas (fiberglass), this one is in pretty good condition, seems like a steal at this price - just my opinion based on pics in the ad - it could have some bigger problems not shown - not much info in ad, has been for sale for awhile.)

72 Alaskan 10' NCO $3500

73 Alaskan 8' CO $2500
