I was thinking of getting the Hooker Exhaust kit (for headers)for my truck. The Summit guy said they were junk. Anyone use one and how was it?
Thanks

Yes, the kit is junk. Shame on Hooker. The pipes aren't aluminized and will rust immediately. And they all hang down too low. I bought one several months ago, installed it, then took it apart (no fun at all) and sent it back. Summit said I should have known it wasn't aluminzed, but gave me full credit anyway. Heck, even their house-brand equalizer kit is aluminized! I ended up finding a local exhaust guy who is a hot rodder. He spent over 2 hours doing my system with 2-1/4 aluminized tubing and charged me only $220. (I supplied the mufflers.) The pipes are tucked up as tight as possible, and he did my tailpipes exactly like I wanted them (45 degree down angle under the rear bumper). He also installed an equalizer pipe. For those of you in the Dallas area, his name is Ray Spicer at Triple A Muffler in Garland.
