I just found a 5.3 engine and transmission still bolted together out of a 2015 Silverado with less than 10,000 miles on it is it worth $4,800 is this a good engine to put in my 68 short wide.

I gave only a little more than that for my 2013 LS3/tr6060....but from what ive been seeing...the zip codes make the prices vary all over the chart...

another price factor to consider is what comes with it?

brackets, accessories, harness[es], ecm/tcm, etc..

late model, low mileage would seem attractive to me..

what trans?

That is an LT L83/6l80, totally different animal than an LSx swap. Will cost more to put in and get running, but there is more hp and torque than an LS 5.3.

I think $4200 is high, but that is me, in my area, the same would be about $1500 less or so.

For some perspective, I just spent more than the 3k price of the 24k LT engine+6l80 in parts alone for a retrofit roller cam, iron head refresh, headers, rad w/fans update on my BBC.
