Re: cool video

Cool vid, but the Lotus driver really was taking some awful lines and braking extremely conservatively. I chalk this up to driver skill much more than the vehicle (of course, I dont know what has been done to the 'mino, but I doubt its better than the 1+G the Elise is capable of).

Re: cool video

The lotus is nimble, but that old tried and true mantra of "No replacement for displacement" can help you carry a BIG stick! Chevelles and Caminos share the same frame, so any and all G-machine mods work on both and chevelles can be tuned to carve serious corner, maybe not exactly like a Lotus, but darn near. As for the driver, if John Force lines up against a rookie, and the rook sleeps at the light, is John Force any less the winner of the race? Machines are only part of the racing equation, that is why there is only one winner and 42 loser in NASCAR.

Re: cool video

You never know what is done to the El Camino. If it is anything like my Camaro build, I bet it would give the Lotus a decent race.

Re: cool video

It was a baseline Type LT that I bought for $300. If it was an RS or something I probably would not have cut it up. But then again, I would not start with a rated out rust bucket either. Way too much work in that.

Actually the frames are different but use the same suspension. That elky belongs to a member o my chevelle board I go to. It`s pretty tricked out and was also in CHP mag a while back. I think it`s got a 496 and a 6 spd. It`s definatly set up for road race chassis wise.
