Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

I just figured that everyone was tired of looking at my old heap. Since you asked, I'll throw some out there.

I haven't been to Stoked Out in a while so I'm not sure what they are up to. I have been focused on trying my best to keep things moving forward at home. I do know that Keith (n2billet) is moving forward on his sons 68 project- LINK

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

You know whats funny? I have been a drag racer for decades. Been to a million shows. I love all types of cars and appreciate the workmanship that goes into any type of vehicle but for the life of me I don't understand why thousands of dollars are spent on slamming one to the point rockers are on the ground or raising it to the point that I can park my dually under them. Maybe it's my go fast genes or maybe my cultural background, I don't know. I see fantastic welding, fabrication skills, ingenuity and plain craftmanship to make our trucks sit in an altitude that can't be driven. What am I missing? Is it that important to get a trophy or accolades from people I don't know or like? Help me!!!!

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

they are dynamic drops, meaning you can raise them up to drive them......
with the sky-jacked trucks, unless you are mud bogging, I want the most ground clearance with the lowest center of gravity. funny how many lifted super-duty "highway queens" I see with 10"+ of lift and low profile tires on 20"+ wheels. You think they ever take 'em off road?

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

grinch4om- It's just what we like to do. Try to answer that same question when someone asks you "why make it go fast"?

If you have ever driven a really low car/truck then you could appreciate what an adjustable suspension has to offer. Why make them so low? Because we think they look good that way.

Even though I like trucks lowered or lifted, I do think it can be over done. Just like guys that build motors that are no longer streetable, suspension mods can be an obsessive addiction.

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

thank you N2TRUX makes sense with that analogy. by the way, your truck is clean as a pin. I lowered my truck to where it looked natural to me, like chevy would have done if it were a "muscle car" type of vehicle

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

I HATE lifted trucks more than anything, I dont know if it's the trucks I hate or if it's the people that are lifting them, not all of them are this way but most of them are drunk red necks and just plain annoying!! On the other hand I love anything bagged, it's a better ride quality and in my opinon just looks so much better than a stock truck

Aaah man, don't be a hater. There are a lot of nice lifted trucks around here, and the peeps that own them are just fine. It's rather common to see trucks with 3-5" of lift and 33-35" tires. Of course that might be because it's Texas and almost everyone has a big truck with a mild lift.

Just like lowered trucks that lay flat on the ground, everything can be done to the extreme. An excessivly lifted truck looks like a cartoon car to me, but there are those that love them as wild as they can get them.

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

I look at it this way, I love any kind of hot rod or chevy truck up or down. Anyone that likes cars or trucks are cool with me, I have my own way of doing thinks and so do you. but whats cool is your ride or my ride is not the same, that's what makes shows so cool you see new things and old things.

And heres one of my ride, I am like Ken on this I think everyone has seen it before and it gets old. But here it is...

Re: Lets see the bagged 73-87's

For all you guys who are bagged and the frame is layed, is there any space in the rear so you can put a hitch on? I see that the rear frame rail kicks up a little but I cant really measure cause my bed is still on

I would think there would be plenty of room for a hitch.
