Project Claymonster Porterbuilt Style

Ok first off if you want to know what Claymonster means I will tell you now. I live in a town called Claymont and apparently the rest of the state is a little scared of us for some reason I do not know why so they call us Claymonsters. So I figured I would name this build after us. I recently ordered the front and rear extreme dropmember from porterbuilt. The rear being the weld in setup. Along with all the extras that go with it like spindles, upper and lower arms, sway bar, so on and so on. I got everything I needed from them except my air management system because I am still unsure with mounting point and if I am going with 10 gallons of air or 12. I just wanted to add in that I have been dealing with Dave over at porterbuilt and he is awesome, very informative, knowledgeable and very nice. He has taken very good care of me even though I ask a million and one questions and I'm sure I will ask a million more before the build is over.

Right now I am going to use a set of my buddies used 20's until I can save up for my own wheels. The wheels we are going to use I think have a 255 35 rubber

Re: Project Claymonster Porterbuilt Style

Ok so it has been really hot high 90's to 103 for the last two weeks with high humidity so I really did not get anything done except for removing the brake, steering, and suspension components in the front end. Here is a picture...I also picked up a bunch of my parts from powder coat.

No new work yet but today is still a good day. I just sold my CPP tubular upper and lower control arms for enough money to order two new air zenith compressors

Re: Project Claymonster Porterbuilt Style

Did some more work on the truck removed the rear springs, shocks, trailing arms, trailing arm cross member, and drive shaft. OH Boy was that cross member a pain in the you know what. The lower rivets were very easy to get out but the upper ones under the cab took me about two hours just to get the four out. There she is laying on the floor boy am I glad that is done. Just a side note the rear axle is on blocks because no one was around to help me move it.

Re: Project Claymonster Porterbuilt Style

Slow moving but pulled the engine and trans. Cut out the bed floor for the high hump and test fit the front crossmember for the steering notches.

Re: Project Claymonster Porterbuilt Style

Got my front crossmember, upper bag hats, inner truss, and the rack and pinion bolted in. The rat nest brake and fuel lines in the picture will all be replaced I just had to get some stuff bolted in so it looked like I was making progress.

Re: Project Claymonster Porterbuilt Style

Nice looking build and some very nice parts your throwing at it. I hear you on those crossmember rivets they royally suck. I don't know how you did it with the cab on, I was pulling my hair out doing them with no cab on the frame.
