Purdy ain't she? No, What? I will be cleaning it up a bit, but no chrome for me. HEI and a new carb maybe.

Re: Post Your Old School Vintage SBC Motor
This was the first engine I built for a hot rod project.
Five coats of paint, five coats of clear, everything silver was powder coated. 360 cu.in. balanced, flat tops, ported 882 heads, .555 lift cam. When I blew that one to a million pieces, I built a mild 355 cu.in. with a covette cam, ported 86 Monte Carlo SS heads, 600 double pumper.

Re: Post Your Old School Vintage SBC Motor
Since you didn't specify truck, here's the 283, dual 4, 245 HP in my 58 Vette. Totally correct.

Re: Post Your Old School Vintage SBC Motor
Heres a 69 327 it has 57 stagger bolt heads and a 30 -30 cam. Ive got a choice of intakes a factory 57 two 4 BBl or a mid 60,s C3B edelbrock. The same with valve covers a set of corvette or finned cal customs. I originally built the engine for my 55 chevy car, However It might find its way into a Pickup?

Here's my little 406 as purchased with the truck. Eventually this will be replaced with a factory correct 402 instead.

Re: Post Your Old School Vintage SBC Motor
This is the 327 in our 67 c20. Supposedly the original motor. Still has the canister oil filter. The funkey upper hose is gone.

Re: Post Your Old School Vintage SBC Motor
I know this isn't a SBC but I thought it deserved to be in here since it is out of a '71 GMC. I bought this from a guy online who swore it had 50,000 original miles and when I opened it up cylinders 1 and 2 were full of what looked like metal popcorn, so I resurrected it and added a little old school flavour to it with the metallic gold paint. (I know the fuel pump is upside-down in the pics) Thinkin' it would look great in a '47-'54 GM pickup.
