I'm hoping to get it on the road by then. I have only driven it a grand total of 300 feet. :uhmk:

That's my plan. It will be one of the '65's. I am hoping the panel but if not, it will be the truck. :metal:

Cool. Since you don't have a C/10 Club sticker for that sweet lookin panel. Post a pic in the Caravan thread so John can make sure he has one for you. :metal:

Too many pots on the fire. Mark gave the Panel back to his bro.

Not a picture, but interesting info anyway. I just wish I had more years, sorry. For the most part, there were fewer of these made than I had thought, especially the 4X's. Kinda rare, huh?

I guess this would be the proper thread to ask about doors/gates. Is this just a personal preference, or is there an advantage of one over the other?

padresag 05-01-2012 01:13 PM

Re: Post your pics of 64-66 Panels & Subs

this depends what you are using them for. as a work truck I think that the barn doors would be more convenient. you wouldn't be leaning over a tailgate all of the time getting something out or putting it back

Correct me if I am wrong but all Panels have barn doors and all Subs have tail gate.

The chart above shows only how many panels were made total with no mention of doors or gates, so you may be correct on that one. Suburbans however were available with either. Plenty of them with doors are pictured in this thread.
Anybody ever seen a panel with a gate?

optional, but seldom tail gate seen on panels but more readily does one see barn doors on suburbans

No panel came with a gate. They were all door models. Suburbans could be with either and looking at the numbers, it seems they were closely split between the two styles.

I believe Oshawa still has the records for Canadian built Chevrolet & GMC. They offer a package that you pay for after you give them your serial number. Photocopies of the Salesman's Data Book etc.

it would be interesting to know the production #s of Canadian built GMC 4 x 4 panels. I would wager that there were probably no more than about 40 built per production year. do you know how to obtain this info?

Here is my "new" 1964. Probably stay pretty busy with this one for a long while. No reverse, rear end = junk, a lot more rust than it appears.
