That's all printed on the lens you can just repaint the tins and it's all good.

Just posted this over in truck audio. Add an Aux jack to your Stocker radio for $20 or less!

Wow, I never would have guessed it would be that simple. Do you know if aftermarket radios/stereos use the blue wire also?

If I understood correctly, Radios that use the turn know sytle potentiometer can al get this mod. You have to isolate which wire is the signal "in" and install in that circuit. It may not be blue in all radios. But if I am correct they would have three wires. One is a ground (Usually black) and the the input signal would be the third wire (Farthest from the ground)

I have heard that you could bech test and remove one wire at a time and try it on each circuit to find which wire gives you the result, than install the AUX jack circuit there.

Is it just me....or is it that its always more interesting and fun as to what you can do and create with less money....than more.;)
Great post by the way and I'm going back through my mental archives to think of my best $50 (or less) endeavor on my truck....hmmm.
Keep 'em coming!

Not the best budget Mod but worth while. I rigged up this oil separator for my PCV line. I got the separator from Harbor Freight and made a bracket to attach to the intake manifold. The total cost was under $12.00.

You want some super bright dash lights for cheap and no leds? I'm cheap so what I did was took my cluster apart and everything that was pale green I painted white. Next after I re-assembled the cluster I replaced the standard 194 bulbs with 921 bulbs. They fit perfect into the light sockets but are much bigger. Cost less than $10.

problem with those bulbs maybe that they also produce equally more heat as light. So be sure not to burn the back of your guages...lot of plastic in there.

Been running them for years with no problems so far, but if cash is not the issue you can run the LED's.;)

Can of white paint, bottle of orange model paint and brushes for the needles and you can brighten up your bezels and I believe with the LED bulb swap you can still be under $50.00.

That ROCKS!

More of a repair than a mod, but here it goes...

The shifter was loose in my truck. I pulled off the linkage where it connects to the column and noticed there was a bit of a gap. The bushing on the bolt was 1/2" and the hole the bushing was in was 5/8". I found a 1/2"x5/8" plastic bushing at home depot for $0.50!

Don't know if this is what some would call a mod or not. I install DOT tape inside my tail lights and dash bezels to help make it brighter. I will take a pic with in all installed. You can get it all over the place well under 50 bucks. Stuff sticks to about anything and will hold up fine in the heat.

Does it make it much brighter? I might have to try that, and think I have some of that tape from work.

Big time! silver paint works ok, but this stuff rocks. Next time you are around a trailer with DOT tape on it shine a flash light on it and you will see how well light will shine back.

I know that it shines. All of our dump trucks at work have it and I covered some magnetic bowties with it for my rear bumper.

My 78 blazer has a bowtie out of red and looks cool when the light hits it. Might be illegal to shine red up front but no one has pulled me over yet. Its more a off road truck any way. I wounder if putting on as the letters on a tail gate would be too much?:bowtie:

Just spent $50 on a 3/4 ton sway bar. all the mounts and bushings were in great shape. Best money I have spent to make my 69 to stop wallowing in the curves! Night and day for 30 minutes of work to install. Best mod ever!
