Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
Hey there...couple of questions for you.
I too, have a 62 and love your grill. I take it that it's chromed steel, yes? Did you have it chromed? If so, who and how much? I have a spare steel one that I need to get chromed. Also, your front fenders, it would appear you bought aftermarket replacements. Who from and how did they fit?? Thanks in advance...love your truck! :chevy: |
Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
Cool build

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
That is my original grill, originally white. Was chromed years ago, assuming it was sent to CA, top notch job cost was $350 then there was a dent driver side that was fixed only tool mark is inside the L. The fenders were bought years ago, I would suggest Goodmark or any other OER dealers. Tuckers Classic Truck here in Las Vegas is normally my goto, now they changed vender and I started a broken budget I go to who has the better product.

All in and on ground. Why would you fully polish stainless steel and then put a sticker on it that won't come off?
|
Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
Nice looking 62. On the cab mounting did you mount it without the factory square brackets or did you channel the cab?
|
Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
The cab is the only thing that has not been off frame. It still sits on factory mounts.

That's all she got. Bumper on ground. That is not dog slobber under the headlight, but a tear for not being driven!

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
There is a 1/4" rub each side dead center of my aftermarket tubs bulge. That's from side to side movement. My rims are "4.5 inch backspace " Rims can set different with same backspace. No need to trim outer, plenty up travel as well. If your not hitting turns hard or use something other than panhard bar... triangle or watts link.

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
My wheels are 5 inch backspace so it looks like I'll be doing the tubs. Thanks for your help, LV...

Back in action! All new parts in and testing. Don't like the power brakes(too squishy) so the vacuum line is caped. The quick ratio manual rack is a bit ruff. Fast and sensitive. Going to get some cleaning done and have it out for the weekend.
