Another Sunday shop session in the books. Modified the exhaust tips/ wrapped up the fender body work and reinstalled the front bumper. When I stashed it away, I had painted it a dark metallic gray. Didn't look right with the green, so just painted it to match.

Was a beautiful weekend in Jersey. Attended a small Cars & Coffee and got some metal work out of the way. While doing that, I let my mind get the best of me with some more color spray outs! I was really liking the first blue (Satin Peacock) on the patch panel until I repaired a kink on the hood and sprayed the darker (Victory blue). I think that's the keeper......for now. Will have to come up with a new slogan. Mean George Green was pretty cool. Mean George Blue, not so much.

"New take on bed decals" Old tailgate was in rough shape. I'm not one who lets things go to waste, so here we are. Was racing the weather on this day, so still have some touchups to do. Carlisle swap meet is coming up. Hopefully I can secure another tailgate cheap for the other side.

If it were me, I'd just leave it at the one side.

Wrapped up the front bumper over the weekend. From the drawing I made (page 7), I drew some air ducts where the fog lights on the Silverado bumper were. Still don't know what I'm going to be doing with these ducts?, but needed to fill the holes with something. Found some OEM housing and modified with universal duct/ plastic epoxy. Really like how the turned out and look factory. Also added some black trim where the bumper fits up to the fender to give it a finished look.

I hope you are having as much fun as it seems. Very nice, unique build and mods, keep it up, also that blue looks great.

Thank you! I'm having a blast and the blue is a keeper....for now. I have a ton of ideas working from the cab back. More to come!

So here we are, the point of blasphemy! I've been secretly toying with the idea of using late model mirrors. Been changing the overall look of George so much, didn't feel the small simple mirrors fit the look anymore. I've seen Mustang mirrors used before with some modification on older C10's. Didn't want to do what was done before and also was a little lazy on not wanting to modify. After doing some homework and a couple walks with an angle gauge in the only "you pick" junkyards close to me (1 hour away), I found the mirrors that fit perfectly! Drum roll.......2015 Honda Civic. I did have to add a small rubber seal to the flange of the mirror where they mount to the body to sit flush. Color matched and so far I kinda like them? Still have to do the passenger side.

agree... it is blaspamy! ..I do think that with the bumper and the other modifications done.... overall the mirrors fit the overall "theme" and "flow" of the truck! ... nice job!!:metal:

The side mirror match the upper curve of the body/bed really well, you nailed the mirror search, now I know what to look for. Thanks Lol

Are you going to match the look of the rear with the front of the truck?

People at the the yard where probably wondering why I was putting an angle gauge on all the doors? Like this dude is crazy, haha.

For the rear, I might try to find a smooth bumper that I can modify to sit tight against the back of the truck or make a rear deffuser that mimics a roll pan. It's all in the air till it happens.

Cleaned out the garage to get the winter shop going. Long list of things to do but always sidetracked by a new idea that pops up. Recently came across a set of 18" Wheels on eBay. They are new and did not fit previous owners car. He had purchased for a 300zx (5x114.3). I'm leaning towards the touring look and these would look good black? Was able to score the set of (4) for $495! With the adaptor it just clears the fender lip. Made up a mini tub and in the process of modifying the inner fender. Here's the setup: 5x5 to 114.3 adaptor roughly an 1" thick, 18 x 11 (+8 Offset), 295/ 45/18 Nitto NT555 G2's.

Pretty much the fattest tire I can go while retaining the OEM tub. Everything sits nice and there's roughly 3/4" of space on each side. We'll see if there is any rubbing with normal suspension travel on the road.

That new white wheel looks good on there.

If the new wheels get any closer to the body you can always do a hard fender roll to bulge out the fender a little if needed. (or build a widebody).

How does the wheels fit up front?

I thought about doing a widebody. Every panel on this truck has been modified in some way or another, what's a couple more? Haha. Front wheels are 18x9" +30 offset. Trying to keep the tire height the same as the 20's (255/45/20) which is 29" tall. Nitto makes a 255/45/18 that's 27" tall or a 275/40/18 that's roughly 26" tall. Not sure which to go with yet.

Re: His name is "George" 84' C10

So, judging by the color and the mirrors on the truck with the white wheels, you must have two trucks, a time machine or some kind of worm hole used to travel in time. LOL!

So, I am guessing that you are way ahead than the current pictures.

Curious, what route you took or are taking to fit the wheels at ride height.
