|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
I've got one you can have next time your up near Clarksville
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Oh. And its near perfect. Its a gmc but I think the gmc is on one side. Can't remember.
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
awesome!!!! Ill have to set up a trip in a week or so and bring you some cash...Thats awesome...Ive been all over pick a part looking for them...Its not a Chevy embedded on is it?
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
I'll consider it a donation to your build. I don't even have a truck this year but the tailgate was so sweet I didn;t want them to crush it. It has GMC on the left or right in the middle or indention part of the gate. I tried to sell it a while back but nobody wanted it so I put it in the shed. I'll see if I can find a pic.
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
awesome!! Well im still gonna give you a finders fee or something!! Still sounds sweet...Plus i can get the truck out on a longer driver to see how well it does
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Here it is. I'll make sure I still have it tomorrow. But I'm sure I do.

Thanks man!!! Will probably be close to the 15th but if you have ill grab it then |
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
The inside looks worse than what it is. Its straight. I'll make sure I still have it tomorow and pm you.
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
cool sounds good...Nothing a little elbow grease cant fix
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
just to let you know the small gmc insert will not fit in that tail gate you will have to use the lager one and the hard wear for the tail gate is diffrent you will have to find 81-87 henges on your 78 bed but it will fit

Got a new tailgate from Chuck (thelonerife) and went to town. First I made a run to pull apart after chuck and i confirmed that it needed 81 - 87 brackets just like Trout said.
Got my brackets and then went and took it down to bare metal. A little bondo and then hit it with some self etching primer followed by some primer.sealer Going hit it will 320 grit tomorrow and then blitz black |
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
You have been busy today, looks great.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Just a little...After my 9:30pm run to Walmart I found myself tinkering.....Sanded it down, cleaned it (apparently not enough), and pained it... Not perfect but looks good...Plan to take pics in the morning....Then do a little work on the GMC part of it :) hehe

Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Looks Nice! Are you looking at keeping that toolbox. Because I know a guy with a chest type he'd get rid of. Its the type that you don't see on top of the rail.
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
Thanks Chuck! Yeah, I am going to keep this bad boy...I kinda like it plus i can shove stuff under it so it works pretty well....
|
Re: Project 78 High Sierra
