Been kinda quiet on my thread here. Since I got the new engine in ive been working on other peoples cars, plus photoshoots, and just flat to cold for me to work. I think this has been the longest duration of cold weather winter I have seen since I lived in this state. Normally we will get a week or decent, then back to cold.

Anyway, got most of the other cars done. Put the new rims and tires on the daily.

So, pulled the jimmy back in to fix transmission and transfercase fluid leaks. I had forgot to put sealant around the adapter and its been leaking badly. Should finish that up tonight. I also ordered some of my first engine mods that were not really needed. AC delete pully, and hypertech salad bowl. I have laying on the floor a 454 TB that needs a good bath and a matching intake. I also got another aircleaner lid to butcher up.

Once I get the leaks fixed, I will be daily driving it tell I fix the paint on the front of the sierra from flake, rock, and unaware driver damage. Just need a few days of nice weather to do it.

Should be a fun ride when you get it back on the road. Gotta go topless though.

I'm going to wait on taking the top off tell I get the right rocker/a-post fixed. That way I can use it to help keep everything square.

Alright, so I got the paint on my daily driver fixed. Looks so much better now. This was my first attempt at blending paint and am quite happy with my quality. I also had a tensioner pully go bad, so I got it fixed.

I have the jimmy back in the garage and working on it. However, to slow things down I have enrolled in some education that will take some of my Saturdays, and ALOT of my money.

Rocker back on. However, hanging the door I have discovered that the top of the a-post is bent back and that is what has been causing my door not to close properly. So I'm trying to think of a way to fix that.

So right rocker is done. Then I had also remounted my electric fan, re-wired it. Working on mounting my engine computer to the bottom of a plastic glove box. Also made a turnbuckle to pull my two bed sides closer together to try and get my hatch to latch/close. Still waiting my friend to make a wood wedge to push the a-post up.

Looks good. I took my jimmy out for a drive yesterday, fan belt busted, it got hot. I think it's fine, will get a new belt today and drive it to my kids first softball game of the season. We had 10" of snow friday, softball today. MN springtime.

Man, nothing sucks worse then taking something youve worked your butt off on for a drive, and it breaks. I will pass on the snow, were already occasionally hitting 70's. But mostly staying in low 60's for the highs.

So heres how we pushed the window frame back. Got it back in spec, but door was still hitting. Found out the post on it was sprung, and the screws holding the triangle window were loose/missing. So heated it up, pulled it back, found some screws. Also mounted the ecm for the engine.

Re: Project 30 years sitting

So I have the top lifted up and titled back to get access to the top of the a-post. Got all the old garbage out. Holes drilled, tapped. Right door weather strip is one. Left one should be here tomm. Plan is to take the top off tomm.

I have an event Thur night, and Sat night that I am planning on taking it too. So before then I need to take top off, shim glovebox and put it back on, which I have clips n screws on the way for that. Left door seal, vac and clean.... and find my big jacket because it will be cold rides home after the sunset.

A tip for you... try to blow out as much of the interior as you can before hitting the highway, and goggles are a good idea too. Seriously, you will not believe how much crap is gonna be blowing into your eyes and face in general. Its like being on a motorcycle following a semi down a dirt road. (only a slight exaggeration) Blow, vacuum, blow some more.

Re: Project 30 years sitting

Roof is off with a causality. The hatch I bought last summer is now destroyed. Tip... don't leave hatch open and attempt to drive out of the garage :barf:

If anyone can remember the thread where one of the users putty knifes his apart and repairs and glues it back together. Post it please

So this has been my project this week. 406ci, proline heads, roller conversion, cam so big it barely fits in, full roller rockers, stealth ram injection. It rounded the distrib gear off, and had DENTS in the cam lobes. Had to order some extra parts and waiting on them to arrive.

Camaro 406 is mostly done. May need to re-adjust the rockers later on. But hes not driving it right now.

So onto replacing the drivers quarter...

So a few weeks ago I went to the junkyard for some parts for another project, ended up walking out with an L31 camshaft to drop in this. Also found some valve covers online that were cheap and somewhat period correct (for vettes atleast). So I got them in today and tested fitted one of them.

I also got the drivers quarter off.

So I noticed tonight, my patch on the right side has the rounded corner like trucks. But then my new fender which is to be for trucks, has a square corner like blazers are to have. So now I'm going to be miss-matched. I don't like my repair on the right side, but damn... buying the whole new quarter isn't cheap!! Decisions.....

Anyway, test fitting new part trying to figure out where my hole should be for the filler tube.

So its all back together. I still have a bit more sanding, and have one high spot I need to knock down.

Finned valve covers on
new egr on
modified air cleaner on
hood removed and at media blasters to get bottom side done, and powder coat the hinges n latch.
need to drill holes for the top.

So I found a tilt steering on evil bay that nobody had bid on, price was tad high, but looked to be in good condition, and not far away. Got it, did some rebuild and repaint to it. Everything is working except the left turn signal will not trigger back off?

Also got all my composite lights in, and an aftermarket harness. It is wired backwards and should be easy fix.

While I was on vacation, I had left my hood and hinges to a sandblast/powder coat company. Hinges turned out amazing. My hood I ended up finding more rust spots then I thought it had. Welded a few pinholes shut. But this end here, it just needed replaced. Done and its in the garage drying.
