Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

If for some reason you don't get the truck and trailer going I have one we can bring it on.

Hopefully you won't need it.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Cool man thanks for the offer, we are going to work on it tomorrow so it should be ready to rock and roll, now just some 62 time in there somewhere..

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Yeah no kidding..

I got the crew back together and out of the shop. The engine is still acting funny like the computer or something is goofy but it runs ok.

Put the 62 in the shop and getting it ready to work on again, hopefully..

Worked on the trailer front rail and on the toolbox we are making for it but have to finish that all up so i can take my welder back to the shop to use it on the 62.

highperf4x4 04-24-2010 10:07 PM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

So the crew is basically ready to haul the 62 to the meet? :D

After the meet ill switch all the front over, id like to get it running right first.

And no i didnt drive it out of the driveway because if i gave to too much gas it wants to die still. Im thinking if the cool/air temp sensor isnt giving me problems.. im going to try and unplug it to see what happens.

Going to sand the fenders and finish up a bit of body work on it and get it in some primer. Want to try and get the rack and pinion on it too but not sure if i can in time or not.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

I havent done much at all to the crew, Joe did happen to run to Pull-a-part and picked up a lower control arm for me while he was out there, now i can start the front end swap well after the 62 gets a little farther of coarse ;)

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

It is too bad with all the rain. I would like to go rummaging out at pullapart.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

I know me too! I need some stuff.. just odd and end pieces and parts but its still cool to go out there.

I took my father in law one time to look for a door handle for his car and he said "Look at all the s**t, ive never seen so much junk in my life" i wanted to slap him and say man these are good parts and a lot cheaper that dealer or after market stuff

bjcaldwe 05-14-2010 12:12 PM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

I just like looking at stuff and day dreaming what I would do with it. There was one afternoon at work I was just stressed out of my mind with bs and deadlines. So, I took off the last two hours of the day and just went and walked around there and cleared my head.

scotts62 05-14-2010 12:15 PM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Yeah i do the same, pay the buck and just see what you can find and cant live without

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Last time I found a gm antenna adaptor. I showed it to the guy and he waved me through. Those things are like 8-10 bucks. I bought one right before that and a week later I found one my old roommate left in the closet of his old room lol.

I went to the picknpull yesterday, $2 to walk around, didn't find what I was looking for and everything was all hacked up. But there is a clean 87chevy that they will be moing out into the yard hopefully this weekend so I will be busy. :) always like taking pix at the chevy trucks.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Did a compression test on it yesterday while i was out there, here are the numbers..
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...k/Untitled.jpg

Not too happy with #7 cylinder but at least its enough to fire the plug...

joe231 05-23-2010 10:26 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

isn't that the #7 cylinder?
are big blocks numbered the same as small blocks?

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Thats what you think ;)

Any luck with a schematic or whatever he was looking into?

joe231 05-23-2010 11:06 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

He is working on it, we need to find a OBD-I scanner or I need to build this
http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/im/m232pcb.jpg
http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/aldl8192/8192hw.htm
so we can use my laptop to view the data stream.
he also thinks, by the code from the computer, that someone may have swapped in an older computer.....the plot thickens.....;)

scotts62 05-23-2010 11:10 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Well thats cool, if we build that will it read the codes and it might be able to talk to a scanner?

Looks intimidating to make to me

joe231 05-23-2010 11:17 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

yeah, if we build that, we can see the live data stream and see what is working and whatnot.
first thing we need to do is verify the power and grounds are all good as soon as we get the correct schematic.

scotts62 05-23-2010 11:39 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Cool, i thought by fixing those bad grounds it would help it a bunch but only the starting part
