Truth !

Happy Wife, happy life .

I missed this the first time 'round, now I have a fantastic lady who understands she needn't worry about any drug use or me chasing other skirts etc. so she lets me play with my oldies .

We've been together longer than I was with my first .

I work hard at keeping her happy .

I love your truck and miss every old Chevy 6-Banger I've even had and there were quite a few .

Saturday the town of Penrose had their annual Apple Day Parade. I was asked to drive my old truck for Colon Orchards by my Wifes Uncle. I ended up on the front page of the Canon City Daily Record. My oldest Grand daughter rode on the float tossing apples to the onlookers with others.

I found some keys on ebay to fit my trunk in the bed of our truck.

Added some backup lights under the bed out of direct sight but in an effective spot. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/TWDTLEDU104

Backup Lamps

Have you yet gone to a seriously dark place to see how well / far they work ? .

I've just backed into my Conex container after dark. I have not been out in the night to see how far they work but they are very bright. One of the guys that works at NAPA has them on his A pillars of his Jeep and says they work really well. I think the box said they shine for 200 feet.

If you're satisfied with the trailer's illumination when you reversed into it I'm sure they're fine .

Backing up my driveway and into to the Conex is my biggest concern. I think I'll be happy with that.

I mounted the lights on the rear cross rail behind the fuel tank at the top of each fuel tank strap. You have to look twice to see them there. I will post a picture of them installed when I get a chance.

I've got one for the front of a 34 Ford I might try to use mounted upside down with the hitch coming out underneath. Not decided yet.

Here are a couple of pictures of the lights installed and with them with lit.

That's not the bumper I can use . I'll probably have a painted one.

Good you pointed that out. Not to get your hopes up. Same here with swap meets last year. But I know some antique truck people and will put the word out.

How old do you have to be to be considered an "antique" truck person?

I've been enjoying reading my way through the thread. I'm a big fan of the "fix and drive, maintain and drive, modify and drive" approach to owning old rigs. Makes for a fun build (and drive) thread.

Thanks for the interest. Hopefully I don't disappoint with the idle time between posts.

Why We Do It

For me, the only thing better than driving my oldies is working on them but I'm a bit of an outlier .

I am a retired Journeyman Mechanic who always drove the oldest vehicle wherever I worked .

Mostly stock as they're more reliable that way .
