Re: project: FTD

progress is.. waiting on a spring kit for my distro
total timing is coming in way to early (the adv is kicking in during idle even!)
she runs like a champ until about 4 grand and dies off..
and TODAY! i developed a hell of an oil leak.. after about 20 minutes of dealing with it i found that the front crank seal FELL OUT..
wtf?
guess i better beat that suck in deeper.

im currently working on getting this dannged blazer out of my driveway, and am doing a suspension/brake system rebuild on a 73 torino, so i'll be busy for a while...

chevy for now is "done"... =-)

Have you got your bumper mounted yet?

dammitmitchell 04-16-2010 10:56 PM

Re: project: FTD

nope it's on the side of the house.
my buddys dont want me to mount it they love the chrome ones too much so nobody will help me hahaha

BUT it is being saved and it's much straighter then the pictures looked.. it's a great bumper! Might put it on my 67 jeep.....

That sucks! Where yall playing in the mud?

dammitmitchell 09-14-2010 12:58 AM

Re: project: FTD

nope wernt playing in the mud. he left the ebrake on when trying to launch my truck
all I heard was a loud pop and she moved 6 inches..

hahaha

oh well so is life.

so i got her home and running good for one day and on the way home she popped a bit and shut down.

she lost two studs of the 1 cyl
turns out the head cracked there because the new press in studs went in very easily, cracked all the way down to the water jacket... dangint..
LUCKILY i just sold a blazer to a buddy.
and i got these. (picks and update coming soon)
Patriot sbc 23 degree heads
aluminum heads
190cc runners
2.02 intake
1.60 Exhaust
Hardened steel seats
Max life .575.
.750 reach, gasket seat angle head plugs

new oil pan , all new gaskets ROLLER ROCKERS! new hardware everywhere aluminum valve covers to clear the roller rockers. and incidentals (oilchange etc)
for 1500.
push rods plugs etc.
not the worlds greatest deal but hell it's better then 2k book value.
and the 3 heads i had good left i sold, the 6months old springs are potientially sold. and a buddys got 700 for me to assemble a motor for him standing by..

im ecstatic.. either way.. my garage is a sea of aluminum iron and anodized blue.....

but it still blows that this HAD to be done instead of wanting to be done.. im super busy trying to even get this all done grrr
