Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Right now I can't think which of my custromers that have bought these brackets are using the Eldorado calipers.
I can not get a set of the D122 pads until tomorrow, but I did put a set of the D52 pads in a Eldorado caliper today. With the piston all the way retracted, there is 1.312" (1-5/16") between the pads. The pads I used were each about 9/16" thick. I'll check again tomorrow when I get the D122 pads. Quote:

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
No, These only work with the '64-'82 GM truck 12 bolt and '80-'87 truck 8.5 10 bolts.
Does your Suburban have the Eaton HO52 or the Dana 60? Quote:

I got my D122 pads from O'Reilly's this morning. I put a set inside a caliper and the Astro rotor fits with a little room to spare. The D122 pads are noticeable thinner than the D52 pads. I didn't get a chance to try a set of D52 pads with the rotor as I had a bunch of work to do today. I'll try and check the D52 pads tomorrow.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
The D122 pads are for the '76-'78 Eldorado. The only difference I can see in them at this point, is that they are a little thinner.

One more question.... Did you put 'clips' on your brake pads? Mine didn't come with any... Just wondering if I needed some. Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
The D122 pads did not come with any 'clips' and I don't think the D52 pads I have did either. I'd have to look at the D52's again to be sure.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
I got the d52 pads. From what I read, anyone using the Cadillac Eldo brake calipers, needs brake pad clips before using the parking brake. I guess it is a safety factor because the clips hold the pad in place and align it where it needs to be.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Any news on the Eldorado parking brake brackets?
Also... My drivers side rotor did not clear the brake pad and is touching the rotor. Any idea how to fix it? I thought about just letting of score itself down... |
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
The cable brackets have been on a laser cutting order along with some parts for my regular business parts. But that order got bumped a couple times for an urgent order. Unless something comes up again, I should have those pieces on Monday.
There have been 2 other customers with the rubbing pads issue, but neither has provided me with the measurements I asked for to determine what the issue may be. That is strangw that you are having that issue on just one side. Do you have a way to either grind or sand the metal part of the pad to gain some clearance? Quote:

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
am gonna buy the rear disk brake bracket setup for my 69 c10 and was wondering if you know of any performance slotted and or drilled rotors thatll fit in place of the factory style astro ones that u set it up to use ,like how you said that itll accept oem D52's or wilwood D52's.. ithere an upgraded rotor available that you know of?

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Just go to someplace like brakeperformance.com and get the same rotor you're looking for but with the added slots, or holes, etc.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Any place that sells drilled and slotted rotors will have them for the Astro/Safari vans.
Take a look here.....several to choose from http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...stro/year/1995 Quote:

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
New to this whole thing, so I need these bracket and some Wilwood D52 calipers and Im good to go?
|
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
You will need these brackets, any D52 caliper or the Eldorado calipers, the Astro rotord, some hoses, a disc/disc master cylinder, and a proportioning valve either for disc/disc, or an adjustable valve. There is a parts list that comes with the brackets for all the parts to install the brackets on your differential.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
sorry i cant go through 11+ pages of this thread.
Do you have a set for 8 lug? Do you have a kit including the wilwoods and rotors? or a complete kits with everything? Or at least a list of part numbers in one place? If I put wilwoods on that means I cant ever have an ebrake? I have to use a special ebrake caliper? |
Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets
Sorry but no, I do not make any rear disc brackets for 8 lugs. There are several others that make them. Here are two of the best.
