Dave - I'm in for a non-efi, bed fill, ROV and 90 ohm sender set-up. Let me know when you're ready to pull the trigger. Mac

everyone chime in and let me know how many tanks to expect and what type, EFI or NON EFI so we can start preparing production and getting the supplies on their way.

i am going to go back through this forum and take a look at all of the prices we have offered. I will try to break the record lowest price.

Just got back from Iraq and need a EFI, in bed fill tank and in tank fuel pump option as I'll be running an LS1. The truck is a 1966 C10 SWB. Thanks

I see you are running the PB rear tubular crossmembers, did you need to specially order your tank or is that the standard dimensions?

funkytechmonkey 08-28-2011 11:27 PM

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

It was standard.... Matches up perfect

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Well i can launch this anytime and we can build as many tanks as we need. I wont be able to supply the fuel level sending units because of supply problems. i have ordered 150 senders and i will have 20 by the 17th which are already accounted for in production. the rest will be 60 days out.

If everyone is ok with sourcing their own sender I will launch it today.

I agree with those guys. I'm ready for this beauty! I would also like a recommendation for the sending unit please. EFI tanks still sent with fuel pump and rollover vent, just no sending unit?

Timbo1 09-01-2011 05:18 PM

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Universial 0-90ohm sending unit on Ebay for roughly $50.00 (new)

Daveboyd 09-01-2011 08:12 PM

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

GROUP BUY!!!

STANDARD NON-EFI TANK $299.00 SHIPPED ANYWHERE IN THE LOWER 48 INCLUDES ROLL OVER SAFETY VENT

EFI TANK $ 549.00 SHIPPED ANY WHERE IN THE LOWER 48 INCLUDES AEROMOTIVE STEALTH 340 IN-TANK PUMP AND ROLL OVER SAFETY VENT

I am not going to set a limit on how many spots are open but this will only run for 7 days.

Please remember because of supply issues we will NOT be supplying a Fuel level sending unit in your tanks. you will need to source them yourself. any aftermarket 5 bolt sending unit will work with the flange that will be welded to your tank. 67-72 chevy trucks use a 0-90 ohm sending unit.

Also notice that we have upgraded the pumps in all EFI tanks from the Walbro to the Aeromotive Stealth 340 part # 11142.

With this pricing there will not be able to be any structural or fitting changes. Fabrication times are 7-10 business days

The website is now updated with the special pricing and ready to go. Purchase your tank here: http://www.boydwelding.com/category/products/chevrolet

call me if you have issues placing your order.

My plans to date is the 68 SWB truck with a LS-1 powerplant. The issue that I have is that the previous builder put in a Pete and Jakes coilover rear suspension, that is of a four link design. I am hoping that the measurements would still be the same considering t he panhard bar, so that a standard tank could be used. I need to know what I need to measure so that you know what to build to, if it is not a standard size hole. With this setup, I will have to get creative with my exhaust, too.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

1 Attachment(s)
Gas Tank for 64 GMC
Dave
I have a 64 GMC that I would like to get a custom tank for. The tank is in the stock location behind the front seats in the cab. I have 2 ideas for relocating the tank.
1 idea would be to put it in the back between the frame rails but instead of having the filler through the bed I would like and try to design it to come out behind the rear license plate. The second would be to have a gas tank/storage combo that would sit in the bed behind the cab, the bottom portion a gas tank and the middle being an area to mount the battery and the air tank and pumps and the very top for a lift out storage tray. In a perfect world the tank would connect through the cab and fill from the stock filler location. Can you give both of these some thought and let me know if you would be interested in building me a custom tank.
Thanks
Rob Fisher
robfisher5@shaw.ca

Here is a drawing of the tank to go in the back behind the rear end.
It would mount to the underside of the frame to allow clearance for the filler.
Calculating the cubic feet it looks like it would hold about 23 gallons.

Man, I missed it, new to the Chevy C10 group and just started doing a search for gas tanks and came across this post. Hope you will do another group buy soon, I love the tank. I doesn't look like it hangs low, I have a roll pan and don't want to see tank when I look at the back of the truck.
