Teach the girl friend the finer points of sanding tell her it will help you grow closer and she will feel like she is helping with the build. Then she can move on to the body when you are watching NASCAR and bring her a beer once and a while to show you care.

At least all that body work leaves you with silky smooth fingers- and as a bonus, if you get arrested, they can't print you...

Lol I'm just glad my wife is down with me building this truck and doesn't mind me spending money on it whenever I can.

Lol my problem is after a day of sanding I can't even feel my fingers, especially the small curvy areas on the doors

Well not much more to report, doors are almost ready for first coat of primer. It has been really slow going as I only have 1 day a week to work on my project.

I hear you on the slow progress. I know exactly what you're talking about. I will be starting on my doors soon I hope.

A few pics from last weekend. My brother borrowed a rotisserie from his neighbor, so we made up some brackets and bolted my cab to it. Sorry for the bad quality pictures, my iphone didn't mix well with the garage lights

Yeah we have a lot of welding to finish on the floor so we figured this would make it easier to do.

This weekend I scraped 40 years worth of undercoating off the bottom of my cab. I then hit it with a wirewheel to clean it up. Its now ready to finish welding, install my high hump and paint.

Project made easy. Should have that cab in great shape in no time. Looks good!

Very nice Keith! I'm jealous you have a rotisserie. I would love to have one for what I'm doing on my cab right now. You don't have much rust to deal with huh? You have to love that 40year old under coat! I have been there done that. Keep up the hard work.

Thanks Mike, I replaced all the rusty areas like the cab supports, rockers, parts of the floors and the cab corners 2 years ago when I got the truck. Now we just need to finish welding the floor and get it painted and coated in bedliner.

Thanks I just wish I had more time to work on this project, I can't wait to get some body panels on it so it looks like a truck again.

Finally got my Porterbuilt Tubular Arms out of the boxes and painted them. I used a red scuff pad to clean them up, then hit them with some etching primer and painted them with gloss black chassis paint. I'm excited I can't wait to get my front suspension done.

I decided to replace my stock 700r4 with a rebuilt th400 built for 500 horsepower from a local rebuilder. I know that 700r4 would never be able to handle my BBC. It was black so I painted it chevy orange to match my engine. Also picked up some accessories for it. TCI Breakaway 2600 stall converter, Milodon Stainless Mesh dipstick and a Polished Aluminum Pan to match my Flywheel Cover. Hope to get everything installed next weekend and placed in the frame. Will be selling my 700r4 after that.
