Wait...what? Why is there a chrome ring? It's not just a lens riveted on the reflector like the originals? Can you just ditch the ring? I just want a clear lens.

Oh, hmm sorry missed the sidetrack, I was reading and replying on the phone. Yea, front turn signal lenses is what I was referring to.

Re: Project 30 years sitting

ok, we were both confused, lol. Yes front ones, LMC, drill/replace rivets.

Made the drive into work today, and it was the coldest ever!!! Transmission started slipping due to low fluid. Nobody hi-beamed me saying my lights were to much for them.

:metal:

Nice work Dale, enjoy!

Any chance you could move your sirius antenna to the insde, and sit it on the dash, just curious if the reception would still be good

Thanks

Re: Project 30 years sitting

4L60E with custom output shaft and speed sensor. It worked fine for about 5-6 miles, started slipping from 6-8miles.

Re: Project 30 years sitting

Hmm, don't know about a 4l60 but I know on a 4l80 having no 3rd is a minor problem, having no 3rd and no reverse is a big problem. The first means either a bad solenoid or a bad electrical connection, no reverse too means rebuild time.

Dale99 10-24-2014 04:12 PM

Re: Project 30 years sitting

It should be under warranty. The guy that rebuilt it knows it was for a non-moving vehicle and would be a while before it moved again. On the phone he seemed to be ok with repairing it. Just this time Im going to have to pay for him removing and installing since my warranty only covered "bench job" not full labor.

Jimmy came back after a few days, simple fix.

I rummaged around to find all my hatch hardware. So the hatch I painted the day it got wrecked is now on with almost all factory hardware. Only 8 screws have been replaced.

Alight. So I took a few weeks off and did some photoshoots since I have neglected my photography while fixing this.

But I have epoxy primed the left rear quarter, and the passenger door so to protect/cover all the new metal since my research showed that powder coating that comes on them isn't worth a crap.

I also had some headlight issues. Turned out my aftermarket harness got damaged in the wreck. Removed it and back on stock one.

The steering had been a bit squirly since the wreck. Took it in and they wouldn't align it since the centerlink was bent. I thought it was to be that way?? So tonight I pulled that out and replaced with the 73-76 style which makes for better mounting for the steering stabilizer. I don't have a new one of them yet. Next week it will get taken in to finish all this.

Nice save dale.....are you going to use a rust convertor on the inside of the door

Re: Project 30 years sitting

Thanks. I wish I would have finished taking the box around like I did on the other side. Once I got in I found out how thin it was on the back side.

Yes, I put some rust stopper on it today when I called it a day. Then I will be undercoating the inside of this, and the skin. It should match the other side which I'm not sure I took/posted pics of that.

Been a while. But its time to do one last body panel before spring. While I'm at it I plan to have all my rims media blasted and powder coated. A lot of the rims have some type of damage. Stripped center cap hole, bent or gouged lip. All fixed. Now ready for coaters.

How well did the quarters fit?

skorpio. I got both quarters at different times and had different issues with each one.

Left. Welded differently than stock in the rear(around tail light area). The roll above the body line was slightly different.

Right. Welded like stock around the tail lights. The surface at the top was wider then stock. Very tight fit putting tail lights in.
