Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Thanks 88 Stanger.
I may have a line on new 200R4 sheet-metal torque converter dust covers. I'll find out for sure Monday. Nobody has those. Wiring up the engine compartment now. |

May not look like I've done mush but it's tedious work. Yesterday and today.

But for the 1966 C10 i rebuilt my 383 motor and added some goodies and going to run the fi-tech on it. I have a mechanic buddy who is a die hard fi-tech guy so i have a good helping hand if i need it. |

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Nice! I would venture to say inspiring. Perhaps you could share details on your ignition system?

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Okay, I worked for two days trying to get the TV Cable/Bracket geometry correct for the Extreme Automatics 200R4. I was finally successful and it is repeatable. I had an old bracket from the cruise control to work with. I don't think I'll be removing it to get it plated or powder-coated. :) I must have gotten under that truck checking the plunger depth thirty times today. All the while remembering my old Chief saying "you gonna let this Sh%t kick your a$%?"
Looks like hammered cat sh#t but it works. |
Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Looks fine, but I would take it off to at least rattle can it. If you leave it alone, it will rust and look worse against all your polished & chrome goodies..
|
Re: New 64 Stepper Project
My plan is to get in there with a Testors paint brush in the morning.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Happy to see you check plunger depth, its not a fun ordeal, but you should enjoy the outcome......nice build....

It's kind of a requirement according to Extreme. I do understand why though. |

Got the trans dust cover pan in today. There was an ear on the starter side that needed to be flattened down, not sure why it was there. One of the holes elongated when installing. Not a perfect piece but then again, there is nothing else out there for the 200-4R. Off to the powder coater it went with the PML Trans Pan. So the Oil Pan Dust Cover and Trans Pan will match.
