We are planning it as we speak. I will know better once we get back from the 3 day Winter Extravaganza at the Sumter County Fairgrounds this weekend the 18th 19th 20th. If anyone is local stop by our booth.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I have a question on the safety vent. Would the hose barb on the safety vent be used for the fill vent hose on a side fill? If I fill the tank and the fill hose gets full of fuel such that the fuel level is higher than the top of the tank does the fuel safety vent leak?

Will the fill vent hose connected to the safety vent hose barb allow air into the tank as the fuel gets used?

Also, my electric fuel level gauge came with a 200-34 ohm sender (i'm pretty sure I got that right). Would the price of my tank be less since I don't need the 0-90 ohm sender?

Anxiously awaiting the group buy!!

Mel

Definitely interested in the group buy as well.....needing a tank for my project.

Does anyone have any pictures of this tank installed on a 67-72 1/2 ton? Interested to see how far down the tank hangs and how visible it is with rear bumper installed.

I needed one a little sooner so I ordered it last Monday. They called in Thursday and told me it was ready to ship and I got it today! Great service, a super looking tank and turn around time as quick as I have ever had anything made. Thanks Dave for the work of art that showed up today.

cool cool.
Ok i have followed this from the beginning and even looked back some and at your website which by the way is great looking.
Just to confirm a couple things. I swapped to a plastic blazer tank with an external pump a few years ago and well dont like it much. this is for a EFI (ls1 setup). I cut the smaller spare tire cross member out and this fits pretty good but is ugly. I assume this will just fit right in its place. I want to confirm but I currently have a side filler since it is on the tank I have. Your photos show this to be a a 90 degree out of the tank can this be rotated up slightly? My tank has a smaller filler neck and is slow to fill.
I am concerned my external pump might go out as it did on my way back from Mobile on the Power Tour. I dont like the external pump as well as the internal one.
Can you elaborate on the baffles some more?
I know most of this may be in this post but it is 15 pages I looked thru part of it again and didnt see all this.
Again thanks
Dave

Oh yea I want to put my name in for one of the slots.

These tanks fit without any major modifications to the stock frame so with your spare tire cross member removed it will fit without any issues. we can point the filler neck whichever way you need to fit your truck. you will need to supply a diagram detailing the pitch and position. The baffles in an EFI tank are the same as the standard tank except This year we revised the complete EFI Basket and added a 3rd baffle to help keep fuel at the pump.

If you would like to place an order for the tank give me a call or go to the website and we can get it going for you.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

another quick question on the EFI pump. I have heard an ocassional problem with the Walbro pumps, I guess no body has had any issues with these? Also would there be a reason to upgrade or I assume these will support the 500 hp range. Im not there but am thinking of FI at some point and didnt want to skimp on the pump. Like I said before the big reason for me to look here is to get an intank pump these seem to be better as the are cooled by the fuel.
Just looking for any other thoughts on this. But since this is limited I better make a move quick. lol
Again thanks
Dave

Dave,

I have an efi but want to keep my external pump, do these have or can I request it to have return line provision added? also I will need -6 connections on return and output.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dave,
I just ordered my std tank with side filler. Thanks for the group buy.

I need a 240-33 ohm sender instead of the 0-90. Can that be done?

If not can you delete the 0-90 sender and possibly credit me for the $39????

Do u have any idea on turnaround on these. Rough guess is OK.

My order # is 6HF180898R451924E

Thanks, Mel

I have read on other forums that people have experienced issues with the walbro pumps but I am confident that with the qty of walbro pumps sold vs the quantity that have issues still make them a reliable pump. i have some customers running them in 500+ hp applications. all of our pumps are in-tank.

All tanks standard or EFI have return bungs already there for use.
