Thanks! I was really happy to catch them on sale! Yep, I will be doing the spray in bedliner, not sure if I am going to do black or go for the color match yet, but I will wait till the filler neck is installed so I can mold it into the bed and make it look clean.

Thanks Bro. I was worried about how to do this and it is simple when you finally get it figured out.

I would shake my head but there is too much loose upstairs and i do not want it to all fall out.

Thanks 70stroker! I feel the same, real happy with the outcome on the paint. I thought the truck should be saved as a whole. The shortwides are cool and I would love to build one. This truck got lucky and kept it's posterity!

I was supposed to have a running engine this past Saturday, but we had crappy weather so I gave him a stay of execution on the delivery. I did't even call him but I will today to see if it will be ready for pickup this Friday. Thanks for backing me on the mouldings, makes me feel like I made the right decision!

Here is this weeks update. I made some progress this weekend and I only worked on it Sunday. Feels good to get something done. Finalized how my fuel filler was going to live. This was kind of a milestone for me in the build. Started by getting the crossmember cut out and while I was at it I went ahead and cut the crossmember for clearance over the diff. I lowered the gas tank about a quarter inch just to give the pipe a little more clearance.
Attachment 541774
The 45 degree bend in the pipe clears the sending unit perfectly. This pic was taken before I lowered the tank a little and shaved a little more of the hose off too. The hose is much closer to fuel cell now.
Attachment 541776
This was the first time the bed was on the frame since we corrected the c-notch issue. Both sides of the truck sit within about an 1/16th of an inch in difference. That's close enough for government work!
Attachment 541775
Here is a pic of the rally on the rear. I think they are gonna look awesome. The invisible tires were purchased at the same store as Heath's cowl.

looking good man! i went ahead and made my bracket for the tank today but the suburban frame slants at the rear unlike the truck frames, and its gonna be hard to move it up because i have straight fittings coming from the tank....i didnt pre plan this well lol. i should have used the 90 degree ones. hey i forgot to ask you last time i was up there...where did you get your panhard bar at? i might be shopping for one soon so i might as well get it ordered.

Got mine from Outback, they are normally cheap compared to ordering and shipping from somewhere else.

Here is the latest. I moved the lower a-arms forward as much as possible in hopes that it would help the geometry on the front end. Since I am shimming the uppers to push the wheel forward this should accomodate the difference. Am I wrong?? I cut down the L-88 hood scoop breather cover to make sure that it didn't cover too much of the valve covers and didn't hit the firewall.
I got the bulbs and lenses in the grill.
Attachment 544790
Got the tailights, lenses and bulbs in too.
Attachment 544791
I ran all of the wiring to the compressors and the pressure switch also. I will wireloom all the wiring to clean it up.
Attachment 544792
This is the airfilters for the compressors. Not too happy with them just hanging so they will be mounted to the frame in front of the fuel cell.
Attachment 544789

Also got my fuel lines ran from the fuel cell to the front of the frame, I should only have to use a small peice of tubing to connect to the fuel pump.

Great job David, dont forget to show us a pic when youre done with the hood scoop, and about the front wheels pushed forward...I think you might run into some alignment problems down the road but lets hope not...:metal:

I'll make sure I get some shots of it. After alot of research on here and elsewhere it seems to be ok to do that. I have also found a older guy close by who does all of the dropped and bagged trucks in my area, I may check with him as well.

It's kind of been on hold, then invisible cowl is painted, so you can see it now... needs a bit of touching up, hopefully it wont be much longer before we get it out of the shop. We may lower a couple of inches front and rear, i may have him drive it a few months like it is, and go from there.

Keep up the great work David!
