Still gotta do the retractor. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get to them. These are 87, but they are going in an 85

NOT FOR SALE.
This is a set of 87 Mahogany Belts that were restored for someone. This set was actually in pretty decent condition. Straps were stained some, but no major fading. Under the retractor housing were probably the worst area. Lots of lint, hair and dust build up. That plays a big part in slowing down the retracting of the belts. So all that was throughly cleaned, along with the rest of the belts. Mechanisms lubed. Rust removed. Better GM Emblems were used to replace the no good ones.
Check out the Before & After Pics.

Very nice! You do exceptional job on these belts. Do you or would you sell 3 of those GM stickers for the metal buckles? Mine are pretty chewed up, but the rest of the belts are fine. If not, I would understand. would you be able guide me in the direction of purchasing some from another source? I am not going to resale, not in the business just need some stickers and cant seem to find any where? These would be for my 83 Silverado.

Happy New Year!! :flagw:

You’re not finding them new because GM pulled the licensing on these a couple years ago, so they are no longer available. I actually only have a few news ones left and I’ve been hanging onto them.
That’s why I restore the original ones when I can.

Just spent about 30 minutes admiring your work in past posts. I am very hopeful I can get my Mahogany set up to you for some cleanup this summer.

Working on a set of 76 Green, 1st Style 3pt belts for someone. Whew! These things were dirty! Had an extra set of center belts, so I just cleaned everything and I’ll use the best parts. I had to soak and scrub these about 6 times, changing out the dirty water each time to start the process over again. Finally got them to where the water wasn’t dirty anymore!🤢
I wasn’t too sure about getting that rust cleaned off the upper anchor swivels and male ends, but they came clean! Only had enough color dye to do the small plastic parts. New Emblems will be used on the buckles. Now I have to wait until the order arrives so I can finish these up. Bummer when you go to grab the dye and it’s almost empty.
