Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
For a drum/drum braking system you will want a booster and master for a '67-'70 C10. Or if your truck is a 3/4 ton you will want those for a C20.

Does Anyone Have A Part Number For a Black Dual Diaphragm Power Booster and Master Setup That Will Work With This Bracket For My 69 C10?
It Looks Like a Great Piece and Wanna Use It Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Do you realize that every one of my booster brackets comes with a list of compatible boosters including some part numbers. That does include some of the universal aftermarket boosters in black. Most of the aftermarket universal boosters are compatible with all of my booster brackets. Also this thread is for the '63-'66 booster bracket. You will need the one that I fabricate for the '67-'72's.

Nice bracket that would look good on my 168 C10

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
This for sale thread is for the '63-'66 standard booster bracket. This will not work on a '67-'72. You will need this booster bracket if you are looking for a standard booster bracket as opposed to the booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch conversion.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
CaptainFab,
I recently purchased a 1965 Suburban with standard master cylinder (front disc/rear drum) and I was looking to upgrade the brake system to a power booster setup. I was curious if you knew if I'm able to use the OEM style booster setup (front disc/rear drum) off of my 1968 C-10 in conjunction with your bracket setup on my new 65? |

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Captainfab,
Received bracket, got it mocked up, painted and installed. Worked out perfect! Only thing I had to do was leave bracket to firewall little bit loose until booster was installed to front of bracket and then fully tighten firewall bolts. This way it didn't cause the outer metal to booster to spring outwards pulling bolt holes farther apart. Fits my 67-72 booster/master cylinder setup perfectly! Thanks again for a premium made piece! |

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
seeking some input on the right booster to use with this bracket. its a 71 C10 LWB with a blown LS3....kinda need good brakes.
I have a 93 s10 reman booster now which seems to be either bottoming out at ~1/4 pedal throw, or is not strong enough to be of any assistance past that point. The pedal feels like its assisted to that point, then feels like manual brakes where you have to truly stand on it to get additional stopping force. booster is currently a 93 s10 4.3 V6, Cardone 54-71152....10.8" single booster Master is a Wilwood 1 1/8" w/adjustable prop valve...currently back all the way off....still getting strong force to the rear since the rear rotors are so large front c5 calipers w/14" rotors rear mustang calipers w/14" rotors electronic vacuum pump, known working well and pulls about 28"Hg stainless lines fresh fluid and both standard bled and reverse bled(previously thought i had air) The calipers come on their respective cars with a 15/16" master...so i understand that the pedal will be harder than 'stock' because of the increased master size....was trying to limit the long pedal i was getting with the 15/16" master. Any input would be helpful. will not go with hydroboost....want to stay vacuum. Is there a chance mine is bad? go do larger or dual 9" booster? ANythign ic an do to futher troubleshoot? |
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
How did you lengthen the booster pushrod? Could the pushrod be binding or rubbing on something?

There was a sheet of paper which came with the bracket....had the applicable options for the boosters....would any one of them be better suited than the single 10.8" |
