Just picked up my 2000 SWB standard cab 4.8 auto 2wd with (cringe) 130,000 miles on it. Beautiful truck, runs like a champ, and I picked it up for $6300. Had a fiberglass bed cover on it, didn't like it at first, but now I realize I have and 6ft trunk. Ordered and recieved and are waiting to put on my 3/4 belltech drop and slam air helper rear air bags. Also did a billet grill and built a custom box for 2 12" subs in it. Begining of next month I am getting some 16" esclade wheels for it. Then I am done. Back to getting rid of the body dropped 69 and shoving the rockwells and 48" under the 85 K90.

here's mine I picked it up last month. It's a 2005 Silverado SS.

cochran63 06-27-2005 10:10 PM

is that a plywood bedliner in that ss?

Joey-D 06-28-2005 08:58 PM

sure looks like, maybe chevy got the idea from those lincoln trucks that had wood beds?!!

trixter99 06-29-2005 10:32 AM

Yeah it's plywood I put it in so I can haul my dirt bikes and not trash the bed floor and sides and I think spray in liners look like crap. Also if you ever had to take any of that crap oo its a real *****,I know this because I've had to do it to repair box floors for repair.

Joe67 06-29-2005 03:30 PM

I just pulled my crappy drop in liner in my 2000 GMC for a Rhino - wish I would have done it years ago
Looks better then plywood :D

Too each they're own but I still think spray in liners blow.

One thing the internet needs is respect from one person to another. This message board is accessable all around the world. Anyone from any nation can read it. Exactly how do you think someone from another nation would take some of the threads at this board? Including this one. . .

If this causes someone to respond with a rant - be my guest - I just said all I need to say.

What are you talking about? Is this how you show respect from one person to another? Seems like we had a perfectly good "show your truck" thread going here. Why don't we keep it that way. :gi:

Thank u krue.........Couldn't have said it better. Now I'm off to work.

How does the 4.8 pull that tractor? My truck has the 4.8 and I have never pulled anything very heavy behind it.

67_SS396 07-03-2005 04:54 PM

It did great! I pulled it from MO to here in Tx when the truck was less than six months old. The trailer weighed roughly 2000lbs and the tractor weighs roughly 3500 lbs. I didn't make the trip very quickly, but it pulled fine. I also use it occasionally to pull our bass boat and you can't hardly tell it's back there.

cochran63 07-03-2005 06:51 PM

That is what I was wanting to hear!

Here is my 99 1/2 ton Ext Cab short box Z71

http://ecarey.xohost.com/99silverado.jpg

It has the 5.3 and it's an auto. It's stock, I'd like to put dual exhaust, tires/wheels and a modified PCM; only problem is the price of gas is killing me and hindering my modification plan ;)
