I put my Yankees plate on. I tried to get the door panels to get the original color back but they just keep soaking up the armor all. Im gonna try something different. i also took the big ugly mirrors off. I put a cheap auto zone one on. Works good.

I'd take those mirrors ;)

Re: Putnam

Try wiping your door panels with baby oil ,let it sit wet a little bit and then wipe the excess off .Its also good for your door gaskets .

Yeah, It definitely needs to come down. I noticed a little smoke coming from the tailpipe today so I may need start saving for a crate motor. Argh!

I bought some new tail lights at O'Reilly's. They are much brighter and look good. I painted the plastic piece that the bulbs are in with a shiny chrome paint too. I also received my trim rings and 6x9 speaker brackets.

Re: Putnam

Where did you source the speaker brackets ,I need to start gathering some parts for my 74 square stepper project before I let someone talk me out of it .With time off for surgery I have been seeing things turning in my mind that would make a neat truck.

Re: Putnam

I bought these from 73bigblock. I bought some for my 68 GMC that he makes for those years and they work great.

Truck is looking great! Your mirrors look just like the ones I just put on my stepside.

Re: Putnam

Thanks Jayson. They are cheap plastic ones. I just am trying to keep it legal with the drivers side. I will eventually be driving it to the military base where I work on weekends. I got to get my windshield swapped out. Its cracked up pretty bad. My new seal and chrome locking strip came in today. I have to order my windshield next week hopefully. I also need to paint my speaker brackets before they get a coat of rust on them.

Well I went junkin and found a seat to use until I can get mine redone. I think my 87 seat feels a little better than the 78 one I found. I think someones added a little too much foam to it as I fell like I'm too close to the wheel now. At least I'm not falling towards my door with this one. I'll order new foam and covers for the 87 seat later.
I put some plastic bushings on my door strikers. The doors shut much easier now. I also painted my new speaker brackets and bought some cheap 6x9's
