Re: Dropmember Rear 63-72 Spy Pic
Since we have seriously thread-jacked you, Nate- getting back on track...
-What will be the advantages of this system over the KP setup? -How will it compare cost-wise? -When can we see some more pics? Quit goofing off on the internet and get back to work on this thing! |

I do know that my kit will get less travel. I am setting mine up for right at 8" to match the front, and it will run a sleeve bag over the axle. The KP kit, I assume, would get somewhere between 10" and 12", like their square body kit. Another potential difference is that the Dropmember Rear will be 100% bolt on, while I believe the KP kit has a weld-in notch. As for pricing... mine will run $1999.00 for the complete kit. Complete Kit includes: Notch, trailing arm crossmember (without tabs for trailing arms!), four-link, bags, shocks, panhard bar, all hardware, carrier bearing support bracket (two-piece driveshaft needed on this one), instructions, and templates (for cutting the frame). More pics to come later in the week. |

How tall is the notch? Set up to lay on a 30" tire like the 73-87? |

My DM front came ups although the box had a rough go. Also from talking to Nathan about the rear design it has been designed to ship UPS.

Looks good Nate, tell your Pop's he is doing one heck of a job:lol: My wife keeps asking if anything has been done on this yet as she wants one for her 63 GMC;) Just go ahead and send me one and I will have her install it to show how user friendly it is:lol:
So Nate will this work with a 4x4 frame as well as a 2x4 fra, leaf or coil? If so you need to pick up a clean AZ 4x4 Blazer and put your products were your key board is! Sure would make it easy for guys to get their "2wd Blazers". Kevin LFD Inc. |

Also, I have gained enough experience with UPS to understand that they do not take it easy on packages... especially the heavy ones! After dealing with torn box issues in the beginning, I have since switched to double boxing all components (two double walled boxes, with hardware and other pieces boxed inside) ... a little more spendy for me with the custom sized boxes, but I haven't had a "lost" component since. |

I don't think this particular piece will work on the 4WD chassis... but that's definitely in the future. However, on the leaf sprung chassis... the rails are the same as the coil sprung trucks with one small difference, there are ridges pressed into the framerails to cradle the leaf spring perches. This chassis is actaually a leaf sprung chassis. As soon as I finalize the four-link design, I am bustin out my 65 big-window and doing a complete front and rear install... just to "verify" things ;). For some reason I think that the 65 will end up with a for sale sign as soon as the rolling chassis is Dropmember Equipped. |

Re: Dropmember Rear 63-72 Spy Pic
Porterbuilt- I've used the following bag for the past 2 1/2 years over axle with no problem on an 89 FSC. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/13-li...spagenameZWDVW I really like the extra lift you get out of them without gaining all the hieght when compressed. I was wondering if these would work with the rear drop member without a lot of mods? I have a 72 I'm itching to bag now. Thanks in advanced for the info

OK guys... my OCD kicked in over the past week, and I ended up modifying the notch in order to make installation MUCH easier. The new notch design is a three piece... the main notch will slide over the rails, it will get bolted in place, the bridge then bolts in place, then the frame section gets cut-out, and finally the inner bridge cap/supports get bolted on. This thing is a beast...
