Got everything out of the way this weekend, now just to clean up the frame and shoot some paint on it.

Your putting together one sweet Burb, When I get mine back on the road we will have to hook up (I am out near Peachtree City).

Anyway, where did you pick up the dropout LS package? Locally or?

I am assuming you are not planning to install the air conditioner with the Ebay mounts?

Na. When I do go A/C I'll probably go vintage air and use some sort of high mount bracket.

Re: '72 Suburban - 2005 L59 5.3/4L60 swap

Progress has stalled for a bit on the swap. The more I've worked on it, the more damage I've seen on the frame. Looks like its had the rails knocked around and poorly repaired. The driver side wheel is back an inch, and the front crossmember is welded to the rail. The passenger side has a kink in it in front of the tranny crossmember. Too much damage to repair so i found a parts burban in the classifieds here and struck up a deal with member 'uncle' for it. Lot of good stuff left including front and rear air and the headliner stuff.

Thanks for the info. For the price I figured I could make it work. Got any pics of yours installed? Did you relocate the battery?

Thanks David. looks good. Im still debating on relocating the battery to the passenger side and trying to use the air box that comes with the intake.

I've worked on the new frame a little the past couple days. I also got the Energy Suspension body mount kit in.

I always move the battery to the drivers side. Not only does it allow you to use the factory air box, but also the battery cables. Makes it look cleaner in my opinion too.

Thanks. New exhaust is on the back burner for now. I got the exhaust done a couple months before i got the bug to do the LS swap, so for the the 307 that was in it i just went with 2.25 pipe. Going bigger is near the top of the list, but its gotta go down the road first

Thanks. I was hoping to be on the road by now, but between the weather and having to do the frame its kind of delayed me.

Frame is finally swapped. I used the original rear suspension on the donor frame with new Energy Suspension bushing as well as new body mount bushings. Went pretty easy but took about 7 hours.

The intake is a ebay special. $57 shipped. I figure if it wont work, i can always resale it. Its a 4" tube.

Ebay air intake

The parts for my fuse box and OBD2 plug came in today. I'm going to build on the fuse box how to on LT1swap.com and just add 4 circuits.

When I looked up your ebay site they want 399 for there kit?
Where did you find the 57 dollar one?

Thanks, found it, for that price I just wonder how good the air filter is, but I guess for that price you could use a K&N,

Did you ask them if they had them in Black?
