In order to make progress some planning is in order ;) I'm going to pull all of the suspension and brakes off this weekend.

Spindles and bags will have to do because I'm not going any lower with this one.......yet

Dude you weren't kidding when you said the frame was immaculate. That looks as clean as my late model truck. I don't think there is enough rust on it for POR-15 to bite. I would consider Eastwoods "Chassis Black" ...:metal:

I was thinking Por15? what do you guys think?

The one picture is what I found when I pulled the door panel......it looks like a skeleton of a small snake!

Rattle-can that baby! :D

Are you sure? I was going to PM you about your 50th frame and what you did.....so you guys think just scuff and shoot?

Re: Hazel the older Sister....

Look at how little damage the Texas weather has done to it. Almost like a new frame, and it wasn't treated to any special coating.

Knowing that it will remain indoors, and get driven on nice days makes me think that a good durable chassis paint will hold up just fine.

i'm very surprised by rustoleum hammered paint. i just took my electic grinder with the wire wheel, clean and brushed painted it on. very surprised, just painted my last frame a few months ago with por 15 but i would hesitate a moment with using this rustoleum again. i picked black but it comes out a bit grayish. very satisfied for a driver frame. 10 dollars a quart....

Re: Hazel the older Sister....

I agree, just do a scuff and shoot with Chassis Black or even a semi-gloss rustoleum rattle can black.

Are you going to pull the bed and front clip before painting the frame? I would almost not mess with that much as that could get you carried from you simple plan....

Hey Kieth truck looks good. Ken is probably correct on the POR 15. It likes to stick to rust. I have rattle canned a lot of them. I have not ever used Eastwood black. But have used alot of there other spray paints. I have used alot of black paint from Tractor Supply. 2 part epoxy tractor paint. What ever you use i know it will turn out great. Keep us updated.
