Thanks, I'm going to work on getting it striped and painted soon, so I can speed up the process of building my unoriginal truck lol.

I got something accomplished today. I had planed to get some done this last week. Work kept me busy. People were tearing stuff up and generaly annoying me. To top it off they damaged a $200,000 plus custom vehicle that I just bought at the end of May.

I'm waiting on parts to get the tank finished. I pulled the seat and cleaned 40yrs worth of trash out. I found more rust than I was expecting but it's still not too bad. My welder needs to get used anyway. I'm going to drop the seat off at the upholstery shop Monday.

It is pretty clean for around here. I wasn't expecting the rust under the gas pedal Ive never seen that before. The Dominion Emblem is cool, that was a nice surprise.

Ive only seen a couple of them. Dominion Chevrolet is still open. The original location where this Truck was sold is now a Home Depot.

Some of my parts showed up. I haven't made any progress, Ive been working out of town everyday.

I havent done much lately. Ive been busy with work. I tried to put the new ignition switch in last night so I can stop hot wiring, but I ordered the wrong bezel. I need the early 67 version.

I'm off tomorrow and taking a Rd trip to Top Bannana. Then I'm meeting up with some friends and going to the AACA show in Blacksburg VA Saturday. Hopefully I will pick up some parts.

Not to be nosey, but what vehicle might that be? It sucks that people gotta be that way.

It's cool, I'm the fleet manager for a blood bank. It was a 2011 IC Bloodmobile. Someone bottomed out the back end hard, pushed the step up 2 inches and buckled the door . The pic is when I dropped it off after it left the body shop. Let the Dracula jokes begin

I know I'm a slacker about updating this. I got a late start and got to Top Banana too late to check out the store. I did go over to key parts and saw their rides, very nice.
I headed on to VA Tech for the show. there were lots of cars there but not many trucks I didn't see any 67-72 there were a few AD trucks a 73 or74 a few fords and a sweet old fire truck. my buddy is a firefighter he was drooling over that one.

I didn't get any parts.

Got my tank in. I might pull it back out and pressure wash the floor. There was a open bag of fertilizer under the seat I still haven't got it all out.

I bought a 67 short bed parts truck this morning. The bed needs some floor work but other wise seems to be in good shape. It is a 67 bed someone just screwed marker lenses to the side. The cab is rough but the truck has lots of good parts that I can use. He has a 68 C30 I'm debating picking up also.

I am going to sell the frame and cab cheap after I get what I want off of it. Like $100.00 to cover my gas . It has a 5lug front 6lug rear. If anyone is interested let me know. I cant keep it long, someone save it from the scrap metal place.

I went and picked up my pile of parts this afternoon. I got a rust free hood, grill and Left 68 fender out of the deal. Considering the bed is worth more than what I paid for the truck. I came out pretty good.

I did learn some things. Come alonging a truck on to a trailer sucks, doing it with 2 flat tires sucks really bad. Dad might get a winch for Christmas.
Don't stick your arm in places with out looking first. I pulled it out completely covered in red ants pit to fingertips, they do bite lol.

Great STEAL!!! on that truck man! Glad you got it...I was going to try to get my buddy to take his trailer down but he worked over the weekend. How is the bed? It looked decent in the pictures and like you said, the entire price of the truck online was 1/2 to 1/3 of what a decent shortbed sells for so even if it's rusty you still SCORED...you can part that thing out for about 5-6X what you paid EASILY....

can you tell I'm jealous  :chevy:

Great score! Should help big time on your project!

Re: Project I did it again

man, put the shortbed frame complete on craigslist for 300-500...you'll probably sell it fast. I've had offers for my bare frame (with title) for 400-500.

I ended up getting it for less than the asking price. I should feel guilty lol. The bed floor is rusty and the right bed side is folded under at the bottom but overall it is pretty nice. The frame is shot someone butt welded the 5 lug clip to the frame instead of swapping the cross member. That was a unpleasant surprise when I pulled the cab this AM. I'm heading back down there in a few minutes I will post some more pics later.
