I did! i finally got it pulled. I know it's been a long time but with college and work it's hard to find time to get out there especially when all the ideas I could find and had tools etc available to me didn't work. I finally got it out but my new problem is the new pushrod won't go all the way up into the block. It slides no problem all the way up to the lip of where it would enter into the block and it feels like its catching on something or like something is keeping it from going all the way up? is this supposed to happen? cause it thought it was supposed to go all the way to make contact with the camshaft.

fuel pump rod should be very free, in fact fall out on its own, you got a burr in there.

Just today A guy brought me a truck with a 305. He bent his fuel pump pushrod trying to install a new fuel pump. I simply found a nut that fit over the pushrod and welded it to the pushrod. used a pry bar and levered it out. the replacement pushrod was freely moving in the engine. we installed the pump and everything worked perfect. the old pushrod was only slightly bent .
