Do you know what the motor came out of ?I think this might be a stupid question but you don't have and extra belly pan ...?

Engine is from a low miles one owner 1957 GMC 3/4 ton pickup I found on its original farm near Nashville TN. He said he pulled the whole engine and trans because nothing else would bolt up to the great running 347 and he had access to a Buick V8 already coupled to a working trans, so it was far and away easier to slide that whole unit down in there and sell the 347 and Hydramatic. At the time I needed a running known-to-be-good 347 so I drove 3 hrs North and picked it up - later I found another excellent 42K original mileage running 347 in another 3/4 ton truck in South GA and bought it - it was already cosmetically restored and repainted and pretty so I used it instead of the first 347 you are getting. As for the belly pan, the only one I have is bent up off the 336 and not entirely certain what I exactly did with that either....I also have a complete 56 GMC 316 V8 that ran great but seems like she was almost frozen from sitting last time we turned it over.

working on that today - I have to run to the neighboring town and will go past my building where its stored and see if I can get a shot of it. Its way back in a dark corner of the bldg sitting on a concrete pad but behind a bunch of truck parts and will be difficult to photograph but I'll try.

I did finally get pics of the 347 but nothing to write home about - darkness in the building and cramped space made it difficult - as I said, I removed the intake to get to the bellypan and had to steal the distributor out of it, but looks like everything else is there

Amid being a typically "dirty" engine, everything looks great parts wise - not a lot of build up on anything internal like a high miles engine would have. PM for payment info and I'll get to pulling parts. I'll have to get the mechanics on separating the 347 from its Hydramatic automatic trans, so that could take some time otherwise this stuff should pretty much be ready whenever your people can come by
