I actually just installed the 81112 moog springs. They are the same as the 81114 but a bit shorter. I also have 2.5" drop spindles in the front. Once they settle it's probably gonna be a little too low . but my truck is real nose heavy (iron headed big block). Its going to have an aluminum headed engine soon so hopefully it picks up some

I installed them on a friends square body. Its a small block truck with stock spindles.

Would it be possible for you to measure the ground to fender lip? I want to try these but don't know how much they will affect the ride height. Also what's done do the rear suspension?
Thanks for any information.

Also I should add how have they changed weight transfer and street driving?
Thanks again Carter

I've had the 81114's on my truck for a few months now, and they haven't settled much at all since I installed them. That's with a bunch of racing too, so I don't expect them to settle any more.

Mine settled in on the first test drive but have seemed to stay about the same since. My engine is hurt so no racing here for a while

Re: Moog 81114 Front Springs

I just installed these POS in my 72, it has the 2-1/2" drop spindles with factory 1/2 ton coils with 1/2 coil sliced off. I bought these things like three years ago when I read this thread knowing some day l would install them. Well that day came last month while my 427 was being built. I had a hell of a time getting that POS Moog spring in! I had to use a chain come along and clamp to get the ball joint started! Once tightened up it was obvious that spring was WAY to long! Compared to the factory coil it was 4 inches longer so I sliced a total of three coils off the damn thing and reinstalled it, looked good and fit good and was still one coil longer than the factory coil...I dropped the 427 in yesterday and down she went until it it bottomed out! Just the weight of the motor collapsed those springs to the stops! I don't know how in the hell anybody can be running these full length, cut, or otherwise in a 67-72 factory front end! These 81114 Moog POS are going in the scrap barrel! Live and learn I guess...

Anyone else have info on these? I would like 2" lower than stock on a 66 C20 w/sbc. Sounds about right with the 81114's

Sounds about right, these springs are about half the rate of stock spings and will require banding to install. They allow generous front end rise for a given power input but body roll is also exaggerated.
