Now these aren't from old trucks but i build wrecks so lots of bottles the empty wreck causing kind. We took the carpet out of a Prizm once that had a $10 bill in a envelope with a note saying if you have gone this far, you have earned this. Take a break and buy the crew a round of Cokes. Speaking of Coke I had a wreck that was an impound bought from a drug sale, and after I built it powder fell from the dash on a gravel road. I thought it might have been Bondo dust then remembered we didn't have any filler on that job!! Later the [deacon] I sold it to said he was driving down the road window down and two white powdery bags fell out from under the dash. Knowing the history of the truck he just tossed them out the window.

That would be interesting, to find out if that powder was dope or not BUT if the police got involved I could see a lot of hassle (if he was lucky just hassle). Tossing it out the window was a good idea, perhaps the best idea, although I would probably have flushed it down a toilet just to be sure it was destroyed.

We must come from opposite poles: I would imagine finding a gun would be an absolute joy. :)

(wrench has been "restored", too).

That would be a sure tell tale sign that the "Trunk Monkey" has been there!

Ah - I should clarify:

I meant being surprised by one during a routine traffic stop as I was delivering the truck from Montana to Michigan. That could be awkward.

Otherwise - not a problem. I did get a couple .22 caliber rifles from my Father-in-law (the interim owner of the truck) when he passed.

Had a small l hole in roof of my 71 , blew through it with air nozzle & found about 500 dead bee's blew into the cab from inner hole in roof. Glad they were long dead..

Oh gosh, that could be very awkward.

Sorry about your father-in-law but I hope you make good use of the .22's. I used to burn through about 500 rounds per week of .22 LR when I was a teenager and I carried a .22 mouse gun for years.

I took the tank out and found a nasty picture of the previous owner with my ex-wife.

In 2012 and 2013 you could have sold that ammo for about a tank of gas!

I could shoot all of those calibers but would pull down the center fire stuff and reload using my own recipes. I don't like shooting anything that didn't come from my bench or a factory box.

I also see a couple .22 shorts and possibly some .22 long, .357 for sure touching the 9 mil lead and another 9 mil fmj in the center. Also looks like a 40 S&W in there too.

Yup, a brick of .22 around here a few years ago was $70 or more, there is a fill up of gas or the price of a good diner there back in 2012.

That box of LC Match that Kieth Seymore posted is pretty darn cool too.... Nice Garand ammo.

Not a cool find but kind of odd, last month my son was taking out the seat of a 73 K20 he got and there were 2 large plastic prescription type bottles that had medical marijuana labels on them along with 2 phone bills that were in the $700 range.... to stoned to remember to pay the phone bill I guess :smoke:

I found two bullet holes in the passenger's floor and through the inner fender. I would love to know the story behind those.

The truck obviously wouldn't start

Not a Truck, But....
My buddy bought a 57 Caddy out of a guys field, when we finally got the trunk open there was a 2x4 barrel intake with carbs (sorry no air cleaner) to fit the caddy motor in the car, it currently had a single 4 barrel intake and we assumed somewhere along the years it was swapped it for fuel mileage purposes.

Also among all the trash in the trunk was an envelope with several old very faded polaroid pics of a naked gal doing various poses, in, on and next to that what we assumed was that very same car, it looked like they were taken near/by a river somewhere.

Traffic violation.... speeding 75 in a 55.....in Taos New Mexico. Was under the seat in my '67 when I replaced the gas tank.

Just finished removing the last hardware from the in cab gas tank in my 69, as I broke the tank lose from the floor a couple bees came from behind and started flying around in the cab. Seconds later a couple turned into 10 and “oh s#%!”
Dropped the gas tank, jumped out and slammed the door shut! Within five minutes the inside of the cab looked like a shaken and snow globe of bees! That wasn’t very cool but it sure got my attention!

Nothing too notable, though someone dropped a chuck key in the A/C duct or something like.

But I was pretty excited to see my build sheet and original S hook for the bench seat

Found a nice snap on screwdriver between the radiator and evap coil in my 70 model. Found a letter from a previous owner of my 67 to the bank explaining why he was behind on his payments.

Without question the most “common” thing I’ve found in these old trucks is boxes of bullets. At least half the trucks have had some caliber. From .22’s to .357’s.

Yep time for a bug bomb for sure!!! I just found a metric crap ton of trash and ranch type supplies in my K20 unfortunately nothing too cool. In my K10 there was a bunch of registration and other papers from the early to mid 90’s and a couple packs of cigarettes in the glove box, along with an ancient mouse nest along with a long deceased-turned to leather-mouse
