New wheel cylinders and brake springs. The brake shoes that were on there to begin with were pretty much brand new so I just sandblasted and painted those too

Ive got a 49 gallon fuel cell from a giant pontoon boat I have been thinking about using but havent made up my mind yet. I need to relocate the gas tank so I can later build some rock sliders but until I figure out what Im gona do here I just went back to stock for now. Sandblasted the tank mounts and patched the gas tank where it had a couple rust holes

Heres a picture of the fuel cell Im thinking about using. A short bed with a tool box and spare tire already takes up enough room...

Is that a stock tank? I don't know the later ones, but that tank may get me where I want. If it's stock, could you tell me how wide that is at the seam?

The tank is stock and the seam where the tank is made together is roughly 11 inches. The metal arounds it sticks out a bit further but can be bent down. I took several measurements and pictures but cant upload them from my phone. I will upload them from my computer at work in the mornin. I think its a 16 gallon tank... maybe 18

Thanks, I am trying to figure another way to get the tank out of the cab in my 69 and I think that may work for me to side hang under the bed, I dont want to put it where the spare is in the back

The tank is roughly 42 inches long and about a foot tall. Figured you might want those measurements too:smoke:

Mount the spare in the bed, saddle tanks aren't the safest

A saddle is safer than in the cab and I don't like any of the fill options with the tank in the spare area

Well there's tons of room between the outside bedside to the inner bed side, could get a custom fuel cell made or buy one that would fit inside and saddle strap or custom mount it to the inside one.

I've thought about doing it for my future k30 build. Still have dual tanks but, moved up for more clearance. Summit has a huge selections of fuel cells, need to measure but, this might work?

Looks a little tall at 17". Have a floor and bed floor to contend with.

Huh? There isn't any real room between the inner and outer bed on a fleetside, plus that still doesn't solve the fill issue being in the bed somehow. I plan on putting a sleeve in the factory location through the floor and running the filler through the sleeve to the underside of the cab, it may involve notching the cab corner, which isn't a big deal since I need to replace that too
