Yep, those hounds are classified as working dogs. Out for another day of work...even if they are playing it's workin'. Gotta do their thing.

^ Nice!^ Love those low profile service bodies.I put a Reading on a '95 I had. They aren't as low as some of the west coast ones, but lower than their standard bodies

In June '14 I had just completed a decent sized job. I was headed home with scaffold loaded up top, bed and trailer full, going up a long grade and at the top it started making a racket. I shut it down and was able to roll up an exit ramp and hook a hard right onto a service road. It was locked up, was pretty sure it was the engine. It was, the crank broke at 335k. I had been through thick and a whole lot of thin in that truck. Looking back, I should have kept it. Things were thin at that time or I would have swapped a motor in there. It had rust in one cab corner (for a while) and in both rockers, but the truck looked decent. I was ready to repair the corner. Between the Reading cap and bed I noticed it was rusting badly on the bed rail. It could have pounded on a while doing nothing, but just wanted it gone and move on. The '95 'burb is cool but nothing like that truck. I need another, hopefully with utility bed...'07-back to whatever. But it will be a year 'rounder, so nothing too precious.

Thanks Tim!! You do have dibs. It is a 5.14 gear ratio if I remember correctly, it's on the spid.

That's right, you got those 19.5s from Jeff, right? My '71 wrecker had 5.14s. I could out run it in the 100 yd dash. Get it moving in second, 3 revolutions of the wheels and it was time to hit 3rd, then drop it in 4th at 25 and let here rip! Now that is a beast

Some may disagree, but my '95 Suburban is a truck. Makes me my money, carries tools/materials, and hauls a trailer. Does more work than most trucks on this site. And nothin' fancy, either. If that ain't a truck than what is? No, it's not a pickup but neither is a Peterbuilt

Yes, Jeff hooked me up. It had 19.5s on it but the fronts were lock ring style and very dry rotted.

Re: Pic Thread: 4wd Work Trucks

Nice to see you post. Thanks for the great additions to the picture thread. Better put those all back now under their blankets.

I just worked yesterday to complete a job I needed my '72 for because of the ladder racks. They'll be spreading salt soon and I won't drive it in that stuff. I hope I don't get any calls for work needing my tall pump jacks and long walkboards (20', 24', & 30'). The truck did great for mme since the end of July when I got it going. I put 4,500 miles on it.
